New speaker Tim Fox from Kent City, Michigan, is a professional bird dog trainer and part-owner and guide at Shooting the Breeze Hunt Club in Mecosta County. He also raises Llewellin setters. His specialty pointing dog seminars teach the Rick and Ronnie Smith technique of gentle training methods with little or no reliance on voice commands.
Mark Romanack presents dog training demonstrations with his black Lab, Mason. Topics include teaching marked and blind retrieves, whistle commands and hand signals as well as an explanation on understanding hunting dog behavior.
Steve Francis, owner of Country Smoke House in Almont, will demonstrate how to dress, butcher and process a deer on Saturday only at 6:00 pm.
The Fishing Academy
"The Fishing Academy lineup reads like a Who's Who among Michigan outdoor experts," Starr said. Speakers include:
Mark Romanack presents Walleye Fishing 411, a multi-media demonstration of how to catch open-water walleye.
David Rose, an inland lakes guide, offers insights on how to catch small gamefish with his specialty seminars “In Search of Perch” and “Panfish In-Depth”.
Lake St. Clair expert bass fishing guru Capt. Wayne Carpenter imparts tips and tactics in “Smallmouth Confidential.”
Muskie fishing experts Don Miller and Mike Pittiglio, both of whom are licensed guides, share their trolling secrets in separate seminars. Canadian guide Jon Bondy explains “Jigging the Detroit River for Huge Muskie.”
Capt. Lance Valentine has helped hundreds becoming better anglers through his Walleye 101 and Fishing Education Center workshops. His four seminar topics are “Spoon-fed Walleye,” “Jigging the Detroit River,” “Getting the Most from Your GPS,” and “Sonar: The Basics and Beyond.”
Legendary guide Bob Brunner, who caught his first big fish in 1929 from Lake St. Clair, is an expert on muskie, pike and big bass. The Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame inductee will explain “Casting Bucktails” for these species.
Dan Donarski takes seminar attendees across the Big Mac Bridge for “The Best U.P. Fishing Opportunities.”
Lansing river fishing expert Jim Bedford will autograph copies of his new book, Spinner Magic, after his seminars called “River Fishing with Lures for Steelhead and Trout.”
Members of the National Bass Anglers Association will offer success methods for taking largemouth and smallmouth in southeast Michigan.
Main Stage
The Main Stage is the site for Ultimate Air Dogs with host Milt Wilcox leading daily demonstrations. Experts from Colton Bay Outfitters in Ann Arbor will demonstrate “Getting Started in Fly Fishing the Right Way” all four days of the show.
Big Buck Stage
On Thursday, opening night of the show, cameras from Michigan Out-of-Doors TV will capture MUCC’s Annual Big Buck Night when successful deer hunters tell their stories to a standing-room-only audience of eager listeners.
Stage C
