Showspan releases their 2019 Ultimate Sport Show Tour ScheduleGRAND RAPIDS, MICH: ShowSpan, Inc., Michigan’s largest producer of consumer shows, announced dates for its 2019 Ultimate Sport Show tour, which includes two shows in the metro-Detroit market and the state’s longest-running show in Grand Rapids.

  • Ultimate Fishing Show—Detroit at Suburban Collection Showplace – January 10-13, 2019
  • Outdoorama at Suburban Collection Showplace – February 28-March 3, 2019
  • Ultimate Sport Show—Grand Rapids at DeVos Place, March 14-17, 2019

These three shows attract more than 100,000 anglers, hunters, campers, boaters, conservationists and lovers of nature and the outdoors. Patrons come from throughout Michigan as well as Ohio, Indiana, Ontario and beyond.

“I don’t want to rush through the holidays, but I can’t wait for the 2019 show season to get started,” said Show Manager Ben Nielsen. “We’ve been working diligently to bring in some of the top local and national hunting and fishing experts to headline our seminar lineup so there will be something for everyone, from the novice to the experienced outdoorsman.

  1. The Ultimate Fishing Show—Detroit, January 10 to 13 at the Suburban Collection Showplace, 46100 Grand River Ave. in Novi, features hundreds of the newest fishing boats and more than 200 booths of fishing gear, outfitters, guides and lodges, all right here in America’s largest freshwater fishing market. An all-star lineup of professional anglers who entertain and educate show patrons is an annual highlight of the show and this year’s cast leaves no stone unturned. Led by Michigan’s own bass experts Kevin VanDam and Mark Zona, and walleye professionals Mark Martin and Mark Romanack, more than 75 free seminars are planned for novice to expert anglers. Included in this year’s lineup are the always popular salmon, bass and walleye Ultimate Clinics. Special features of this pure fishing show include 110,000-gallon Lake Ultimate, Hawg Trough demo tank, Ice Fishing Extravaganza, Shanty Truck Load Sale, Shore Lunch Fish Fry, Trout Pond for kids and much more. The 46th Annual Outdoorama, February 28 to March 3 at the Suburban Collection Showplace, 46100 Grand River Ave. in Novi, is one of Michigan’s most popular shows for hunters, anglers, campers, boaters, hikers, conservationists, canoeists and general outdoors enthusiasts. With 50-percent more floor space due to the expansion at Suburban Collection Showplace, the show will include more than 200 booths of new hunting and fishing gear and includes fishing boats, pontoons, canoes, kayaks, deck boats, runabouts and more. Outfitters from across North America and beyond will be present at Outdoorama’s Outfitter Expo so show patrons can get the early jump on booking a hunting, fishing or adventure trip. There will be over 50 free hunting and fishing seminars by national experts including walleye experts Mark Martin and Mark Romanack. Returning to the show this year is The Lumberjacks Show. Also returning are crowd favorites such as “Big Buck Night East,” deer processing demos, complimentary scoring by Commemorative Bucks of Michigan, and a Trout Pond for kids among many special features. The show is held in conjunction with the 13th annual Cottage and Lakefront Living Show – Detroit, providing patrons with two major shows for one admission. The 74th Annual Ultimate Sport Show—Grand Rapids, March 14 to 17 at DeVos Place, 303 Monroe Ave. NW in downtown Grand Rapids, is one of the largest and longest-running outdoor shows in the country. The show covers over four acres of exhibitor space and includes an outstanding display of fishing boats. More than 350 exhibitors will be showcasing fishing tackle, hunting gear, outfitters, lodges, guides, charter fishing and adventure-travel destinations throughout North America and abroad. There will also be more than 100 non-stop fishing and hunting seminars on five stages, including 110,000-gallon Lake Ultimate. Bass fishing expert and TV show host Joe Thomas headlines an all-star seminar lineup that also includes walleye professionals Mark Martin, Marianne Huskey and Mark Romanack, along with hunting experts Denny Geurink and Tom Richardson. Returning this year is The Lumberjacks Show, the popular salmon, walleye and bass Ultimate Clinics, the Michigan Taxidermists Association’s statewide competition, Big Buck Night West, the Hawg Trough, the Trout Pond for kids, carvings by the Woodland Woodcarvers, NWTF state turkey calling competition and more.
