Fished Bay De Noc this past Memorial Day weekend.  The water level is up quite a bit from this same time last year.  We were able to fish a few areas that last year would have been difficult if not impossible.

Overall the fishing and weather was good.  All fish were caught in less than 3 feet of water. Water temps varied from 58 to 62 degrees. Tubes, grubs and jig and craw baits seem to work the best.  My partner tossed a spinnerbait for a while without any luck and I think he will admit without much confidence.  The other baits were producing well enough that it was difficult to switch.  Most fish related to reeds while a few where caught off of rock piles.

All fish were released.

Sounds like fun. Did you get any big ones? Any pictures?

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

Did you launch from Escanaba?

Too bad the BASS boys cancled their tourny up there this year. That hurt the economy pretty bad if ya think  about it. Plus , if ya watched that episode of bassmasters, we all would have had great info.   Was all set to go up and chase Bondy  aroudn for 4 days too

HellaBass,

Nope, I didn't launch from Escanaba.  I launched in Garden Bay, it's on the east side of Big Bay.  It is a DNR ramp that was redone within the last 5 or 6 years or so.  It's a nice launch, a bit steep and enough parking for about a dozen boats or so.  Haven't launched near Little Bay for probably over 10 years.  Too much fishing pressure for me for the times I get a chance to fish Bay De Noc.

Any recent reports on Bay De Noc smallies?  Depths, types of structure?

I am in pursuit of the biggest bag of Bass Big or Little bay has to offer and heading there the 21st of July to practice for a tourney .  Any info would be greatly appreciated .

Thanks for the report.

That place is on the top of my list of places to fish.  If there were only a decent place that I could stay with my wife and daughter.
