The poorly written, damaging to Michigan Sport Fishing commercial fishing bills have been introduced again. State House Bills 5801 and 5802, introduced by Rep. Dave Prestin and Rep. Jason Morgan, have been assigned to the House Committee on Natural Resources and Tourism.

This is a tale of two lakes. Intertwined lakes, in Barry County, Michigan. Where somehow the water has gone away. Upper and Lower Crooked Lakes, both near and dear to me, are suffering from the lowest water levels I've seen in the 35+ years I've been fishing them.

Poorboy,
I know you have had this problem as many times as I have, but I was curious as to how I should proceed.
As you know today is the wonderful hallmark holiday known as valentines day. To my wife, as is to most woman it is an extra special holiday, whereas their sweetheart gets them something sweet, or charming to show that she is the love of our life. Now my dilemma. I recently bought myself a new stratos bass boat from wonderland marine and now I need to buy the cool things for it. I am expecting a package today as well as my custom embroidered tournament shirts. The problem is I spent my whole allowance on this stuff and have nothing left over to buy her anything. If i tell her I have no money it is o.k. , but when packages start arriving today I am in for it. I do have  a little tucked away, but I am sending my check for the BFL tourneys this week. What would you do????

PoorBoy always says "ladies first".  But i can understand and forgive your situation because it involves a new boat.

I like to think that my many years of being extremely good looking and having a way with women has taught me a thing or two about these fragile creatures.  The key to a womans heart, is something from the heart.  And if that something from the heart is shaped like a heart, your in like sin.  Thats why my #1 pick for a low budget valentines day gift is a heart shaped venison meat loaf.  Making this tempting treat for your better half will prove several things to her.

1)  You care enough to take your fat ass off the couch long enough to burn a pile of meat in her honor.

2)  #1 pretty much sums it up.

To a woman, a heart shaped meat loaf symbalizes your undeniable love for her.  It also shows that you have ambition, which as we all know is more effective than spanish fly.

Something else that has proved to be a winner for me is offering up the top bunk.  I did this last year for my fiance andit brought a tear to her eye.  It was hard for me to sleep on the lumpy bottom bunk but it was only for one night, and i know it meant a lot to her to get a good nights sleep.

Remember, something from the heart.
