The new Michigan Fishing Tournament Information System is up and running.

One of the many enhancements is you can now register more than one tournament per day per ramp for instances such as huge ramps where several small bass tournaments are using the same day.

Go to the shortcut www.michigan.gov/fishingtournaments for information about the new rules and system, and a link to the system, or go directly to http://www.mcgi.state.mi.us/fishingtournaments/ to search for bass tournaments or enter your own.

Remember, it is required to enter all bass tournaments this year on the MFTIS and come back after and enter your results.

There are already over 1,000 bass tournaments entered on the system for 2016. Another new detail is that the calendar will allow you to enter a rolling 12 months ahead of time so no more waiting for January 1 to enter tournaments for that next calendar year. Many additional ramps have been added to the system to include those we know are used.

If you still find a ramp that you need on the system missing please send information about the name of the ramp, the water body it resides on and county (if you know it) and/or town to our MDNR bass tournament liaison Tom Goniea at DNR-FTIS@michigan.gov or 517-284-5825.

Give it a try and see that many improvements have been made in this new version.

Don't forget that many ramps are known by multiple names by different people so you may want to search on the new map view to identify the ramp is actually already there and that you have the correct ramp.

Got an e-mail today that Kent Lake has been added to the system.  i was able to add my tournament there.   The site has changed a lot and looks good.  You will be able to view upcoming tournaments that are posted.

Glad you liked it. A great deal of work and MDNR Fisheries Division budget was put into trying hard to improve the system for all of us.

Looks good, but I don't see the Mad Wags listed on the 7th of May yet!

I'm going to try one more time and see if it works for me now that they've messed with the wiring to my house. It's working better than it was anyway. If I still can't get it entered I'll let you know. Thanks!

Well, I got one error when I tried to log in but then I was able to log in and got the MadWags Memorial Members Tournament added in so all set for that one. Thanks again.
