I wanted to start this thread for anyone who is looking to buy a new kayak and does not know where to start. There are many factors to consider when picking out a fishing kayak depending on things like what waters you will be fishing, your style of fishing, sot vs sit in kayak, your physical condition and so on....Many  guys have owned lots of kayaks and test paddled alot of them and our more than willing to help someone pick out a kayak. So if this you ask away! Nothing worse than buying a yak you are not satisfied with.

That is the truth. There are quite a few choices! I will definitely look to those of you with experience before I end up buying one if I pull that trigger.

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

I went with the widest yak i could find when i was buying a few years back.
Went with an Ocean Kayak Prowler big game. 34" wide sit on top. Easy to roll on and roll off.
Lots of dry storage too in hull.

That's good to know. I like to stand up. But... I'm also clumsy. If I make up my mind to try this, I will need all the advice I can get to minimize swimming...  ::)
