VHF Hand Held Radio
« on: March 28, 2012, 09:45:10 PM »

Hello all,

Can anyone recommend a good VHF hand held radio?
Fishing Lake Erie more and more I figure I should probably get one.

There was a nice one on sale from West Marine under the Internet Shopping forum - I think it is still on sale and it floats. Looks like a very good model for the Great Lakes. I definitely recommend a VHF radio though you would need a mounted model with a good antennae if you are out in the middle of nowhere.

They do have a very good selection online for handheld and mounted radios. Several are on sale right now.

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.
