Just finished watching Russ Lane put it on Bradley Roy on Lanier, they said next weeks Ultimate Match Fishing is going to be Brian Thrift v Russ Lane on Michigan's Mullett Lake!! So there's going to be 3 tourneys of these pros going 1on1 up there! I'm sure it's already been shot, but that's still awesome!

When should that air? and on what network?  That will be worth watching!!

I'm pretty sure it's the Outdoor Channel on Friday nights at 7 and 10 pm.  Can anyone verify that?

For most of us, that is it. The match happened back in mid-July this summer on Mullett and then Burt Lakes back-to-back. I'll have to watch it since I don't know how it turned out?

There were a number of reported bass pro sightings around Michigan that week.

I was rooting for Russ Lane but Thrift got him! I hope Russ makes it through in the wildcard spot. It was about as tough as I thought it would be for the time of year they were fishing and the short time they each have control of the front!

Now, have to watch next week to see who advances to the next (Michigan?) lake with Thrift for the final!

Dang, I missed it...I will have to watch for the re-airing.

Was a good one-on-one with Thrift pulling it out in the 4th quarter. Neither of them culled, i don't think, which is surprising at Mullet.
Did i hear correctly that Lane had a dead fish penalty ?

Lane had a short fish and one penalty

Russ took a chance with a close fish and it didn't measure when it was official. 1 pound penalty for trying to weigh it. Those Mullett Lake bass are so fat it can be hard to believe they won't measure and I know he wanted that weight at least for the wild card.

They fished Mullett after the first week in July. I've never fished it that late (or early from my favorite fall time) so I figured it would be spotty and tough considering they are all new to the lake and the bass would be in post-spawn big-time still moving a lot.

The real tough part of that format is the limited time they control the boat. They could have chosen to hit one of the same spots at a different time and caught 1 to 3 more keepers quick out there!

I guess this means I'll be seeing a lot more boats up there now. Good thing I've started hitting some of my other old-time lakes and finding they have also gotten quite a bit better (and BIGGER)!! Still some nice sleeper lakes up there.
