The poorly written, damaging to Michigan Sport Fishing commercial fishing bills have been introduced again. State House Bills 5801 and 5802, introduced by Rep. Dave Prestin and Rep. Jason Morgan, have been assigned to the House Committee on Natural Resources and Tourism.

This is a tale of two lakes. Intertwined lakes, in Barry County, Michigan. Where somehow the water has gone away. Upper and Lower Crooked Lakes, both near and dear to me, are suffering from the lowest water levels I've seen in the 35+ years I've been fishing them.

Dear Poorboy-
I am a thirty-something male (in the prime of my life, so-to-speak).  I get up every morning, shower, brush my teeth, put my pants on (one leg at a time, mind you) and make my way to work.  I like what I do for a living (although the money could be better) and I often daydream about being anywhere but at work.  Since my work mostly relates to "computer stuff", my eyes are often strained, I get headaches like you won't believe, and I think I might even have carpel tunnel syndrome.  It gets pretty painful at times and it has me worried.  Which leads me to my question:  Braid or floro?  Thanks in advance for the advice...

Dear Mr Cheetam,

Let me first say thank you for joining the PoorBoys Playhouse fan club.  Your Starter kit, including the secret decoder ring has been sent, please allow 4 - 6 weeks for delivery.

Now as far as your question, i say use both.  Just wrap some floro around the braid and bond together with Gorilla Glue.  That way you get the near invisible properties of the floro with the unmatched strength and abrasion resistance of the braid in one easy to cast package.

Good Luck, and tight lines!

Jeff, You should eat pringles, vienna sausages and chew Kodiak. I promise your pain will go away

Wow! Lots of great advice!!!

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

Dear Lola,

You have to remember that we humans react differently to certain situations.  Here is a good example.  When we see a dog 'cleaning' itself we think ewww thats gross.  But we are secretly wishing we could do that as well.  Imagine how much we would save on water.  But you can understand that any fish we catch is reason for celebration.

Anyway, tell your friend that i would be happy to go fishing on kent lake with him.
