This is a tale of two lakes. Intertwined lakes, in Barry County, Michigan. Where somehow the water has gone away. Upper and Lower Crooked Lakes, both near and dear to me, are suffering from the lowest water levels I've seen in the 35+ years I've been fishing them.

Looking to trade in good partner for slimmer trimmer model.
He's quite strong, I've seen him send a War Eagle spinner bait half way across GTB (warned him about braid and casting reels). He also easily rips a Perko latch right out of the lid.
Has a knack for finding fish if you like pike infested weed beds.
Decent navigator, only 1 time last year did we drive 100 miles to a tourney at 3 a.m. to find it was the wrong Crooked Lake.
Never brings more than 18 or 19 rods. Only locks the keys in the truck now and then.Enjoys eating powdered sugar jelly filled donuts in back of boat.
Good caster too, can go 5 or 6 casts without a backlash. I've also seen him cast a worm into a living room while pier fishing on Gull. While flippin' on Mona he managed to get bit by 12/2 with ground. Pretty good huh? Please trade, please.
Look past what they want you to see.

Sounds familiar?  I wonder if my partner has been moonlighting? ???

Does he eat 9 times in an 8 hour tourney?

Cheetam

If he starts jigging for walleye less than an hour into a bass tourney "because they are biting", I might have an idea of who this is...
Jeff

Savage

Oh, I might be up for a trade.  Does yours find the most snaggable spot on the most expensive boat during the windiest day on the biggest open tournaments?  Does he change to whatever bait you are using as soon as you catch one 10" dink on it?  Does he knock fish off with the net, or kick your rods into the water?

Well mine doesn't, so NO DEAL!  Woohoo, I got a good partner! ;D

I've had non-baoters do that stuff, though!

As long as you don't ask Josh about our excursion on st.clair last year!! I think I'm an ok partner.  I didn't kick any of his rods in the water, didn't loose any of his fish when I netted for him and while he was taking one of my fish off a hook for me because I couldn't his was in the water next to the boat and a smallie crabbed it and I picked it up and set the hook and handed it to him and it was a keeper!!!  Other than the bugs and the heat and I thought he was going to kill me!!! We had a great day!!!! Oh now I laugh about it.. I was so miserable that day and he was so wonderful to me,  I bet he hopes he never has to fish with me again,  but if anyone of you guys ever get the chance to fish with someone I'm talking about our very own emeryj he's is wonderful to fish with.  He was very good to me even made me sandwiches what a guy,  and you guys wanted to know why I wanted you all to hook him up with a hooter girl for me  well now you know ;)

No thanks, I already do all that myself.

joshimoto son

I'll go fishin wit ya any time Wendy.
Next time we'll bring a fogger to keep the bugs aways and one of coolie cup hats and
fill it with ice so I don't have to dump water over your head to keep you from getting
heat exhaustion.
She was a trooper... it was hotter than a 5 dollar Rolex.

I would love to be able to come back and fish st clair someday and actually catch fish and not feel like it beat me for once!!!   And I would love to fish it with you.  I had so much fun!!  As miserable as I was it was a blast.  Now I laugh about it, but oh I was frustrated.  That lake just gets me more than any other lake why is that,  think it's because everyone says it's so wonderful and it always kicks my butt?  That and the fact that when I saw my husband and he couldn't walk when he got back that about killed me... :(  That was the worst part of the whole day.  The cool down laps were fun though!!!

Let's talk about fishing with Josh.
I see the topic of bugs has come up. Ahhh yes, the man who manages to find himself going out into Saginaw Bay 20 miles away from anything only to bring all of his infestive friends out to meet me. I looked like Ali-Baba with a towel draped over my head, under my hat with sunglasses in place. This si to keep them out of my eyes and ears. Then taking my shirt and pulling the coolar up high enough to keep them out of my nose. Ohhhh yeah !!! He's a hoot and great to fish with.
Or we could talk about the day before, when he takes me to this place that was loaded with fish during practice. You know, the ones that you could see and pick out the ones you will be putting in the box. Hah! If you were fishing for the ones with whiskers that is.
Then as he's really starting to peak with his skills at about 1:20 in the after noon and catches a sheephead. This leads to an act of conservation that I have never seen before. It all starts with some muttering about catching catfish and sheepheads. Now he is full bore screaming at the top of lungs about what he isn't catching and how far he came to do this and makes a long cast. I am now standing at the edge of my boat contemplating swimming back to Au Gres. Suddenly he makes a hap hazard cast, lets it fall to the bottom and tada!!!! He catches a 3.5 lbr. This technique I have tried to use time and time again. He is the master. Yes Wendy, fishing with him is a trip alright.

I've been traded twice in my bass fishing career(3-4 years) ;D no kidding :'(
I ain't as good as I once was, but I was good once as I ever was

spinninbug

Bugs?  Jaguar are you who I think you might be?  That you and I are the only ones that when we fish with Josh seem to be the ones that be lucky enough to attract bugs?  If you are,  who I think you are we fished together we didn't have the bug probem,  hmmm.  Oh well it's an adventure anyway!!!  I love fishing and the adventure!!

Wow!!!

I bet there will be all kinds of people wanting to go fishing with me now!

I would like to take this time to welcome "Jaguar" to the board and his first post.
He has been a stalker of this site for quite sometime now and finally got the urge to
join in on the fun.

Joshimoto son

spinninbug

Yeah me too!!  Now that I asked Josh for sure and know welcome aboard!!  Be brave it took me a while.  I'm still not really brave but once in a while I pipe up and say a thing or two.  And yes I know what your thinking,  she never shuts up why does she need to be brave to talk.  this is a new thing for me,  but I'm gettin there.  Anyway, welcome to the forum.

Let it be known that it was not fear that kept me away. As with most large cats who are predators, you must stalk. I was looking for the opportunity in which I would be comfortable with my attack and know that the choice to end the hunt was my own. The thrill of the hunt is was gives the Jaguar his drive. His will to succeed if you will. The Jaguar has instincts that have been his from birth. As most know, he will lie low until it is time to make his presence known.  Just ask J.D. Power and Associates.  ::)

Jaguars don't really lie low, but more like dead till they get towed to the repair shop - They are gentically being crossbread to be more like Fords these days - not really a good thing!

Welcome aboard anyhow!

Talking about the car - Jaguar - I've always liked them. I've heard they are not the most dependable vehicles, but shoot, even sitting in one being towed, you look pretty cool...;D

As far as Jaguars that finally post on the forum, I think I have to give today's creativity post award to the reply #17 by new member Jaguar. Nicely done. Sorry... no actual prize... just a nicely done.

And glad to have you hear. Kind of like the emeryj - spinninbug - Jaguar triumvirate now :)
