Title: 1-29-10
Post by: mikesmiph on January 29, 2011, 03:14:24 PM
Zona was his usual humorous self. When he started lovin up that spot, I thought I was going to wet myself. And, it didnt have anything to do with my age either. Would be nice to put together a trip down to that river chain sometime.

It did look like some real fun fishing.

I've wanted to go fish for Coosa River Spots for a long time now, ever since I saw Zona's ESPN show on the Coosa.

Looks like a good trip. I know I had a blast fishing spots on Table Rock a few years ago. Had a school of huge spots boil up right next to the boat and never got the biggest ones to bite.

You know, I hate to say this, but Zona's shows are in a rut. They are getting quite boring. Sorry "Z"

Aww c'mon. I enjoyed watching today. The Storm from the North and everything! The only thing he didn't do was a back flip! Maybe you could go on his Facebook fan page and post some suggestions? But no back flips.

With 18 inches of ice and 2 feet of snow in front of my house i would watch 2 chipmunks fish for sunflower seeds.  As long as there is open water.  sorry only thing I could think of.

You crankbaiters watch this weeks  Strike King Pro Journal.  It will get you drooling.  Mark Rose fishing the 6XD and wacking them.

Z Train is getting a bit over the top and it seems a LOT forced and not natural. When you make Dave Mercer look sane and calm, you need to calm yourself down.

Actually, from what I've seen, that is pretty much both their natural states in the public eye. Maybe some day they'll release the parts that get edited? Especially some of Dave's stuff! Whew!!

You should see Z singing in the early, early morning to the lady behind the sandwich counter. And asking if she minds if he comes back later in the day and sings some more. (She didn't.) And the local police officer who swung at Z'clock in the dark morning to get some stories. (I figured with my luck I had probably parked in a no parking zone or something.) Everywhere you stop, people are coming up to tell a story, or ask to go fishing, or for an autograph, or to share their own personal secret spot.

Quite a thing to see. The shows (including Dave's) are just an extension of their public personalities.

Comcast offers an outdoors package - which give you some of the channels that have the better fishing shows - its not expensive.
