Post by: Durand Dan on July 30, 2010, 01:39:25 PM
I'm thinking about hitting either Kent or Chemung in the morning.  Where are you going to be?

might go to pontiac and feed the pikies some jigs.   sometimes you even catch a bass doing it.

I was thinking about Kent
But I hate the double launch fee's

Fished Pojntiac Wen. Night
The better bags were all deep in the front on Jigs
Can't go wrong in front of the bath house

Maybe Orion, Orchard or Kent
Is the Frog bite on at Kent?

The frog bite is terrible on Kent right now. The fish have moved out to 8-11 ft of water, try jigs and drop shot.  Check out the main river channel and along some of the drops.  In the KLBA on Tuesday night it took over 10 pounds to win with a three fish limit. Lots of fish were wighed in the were over 2 lbs. I think we may have even had a record number of smallies weighed in. Big smallies!

i'm driving to NW indiana to a family cook out. Don't think i'll be fishing anywhere until monday.

On the bright side, my inlaws have purchased the following for the cookout:
1 roast lamb (they are serbian)
2 dozen turkey legs
1 roaster pan of broasted chicken
german potato salad (courtesy of my lovely wife)
3 pies from baker square
1 sheet cake
several other misc "cookout salads"

my FIL is picking up about 6 or 7 sixers of good german imported beer.

There will be a whopping total of 9 adults, 2 toddlers and 1 teenage girl there - you do the math!

Lake Michigan, out of Manistee.  A free chartered salmon trip and 2 night stay at Little River casino.  My partner won it, (2 years in a row), at the Novi fishing show bobbing for trout.  We bring up the bass boat so we will hit about 5 lakes up there for bass.

That sounds like a feast. Right up my alley. If I'm not fishing I'm looking for a good place to eat. Northern Indiana was it? Isn't there a Bass Pro Shop in northern Indiana? Hmmm food and tackle.

Being 100% Greek, that is how you do a roast lamb.............over a spit with hot coals and a bunch of garlic.  I would skip fishing tomorrow if I could get an invite to that cook out!!!    8)

Anyway I am headed to either Erie or St. Clair.  Leaning more toward Erie.  I have been catching them real good out there as of late.  I haven't been up to the St. Clair River yet.  I was also thinking about going there.  I have a club tournament there next weekend and thought about going to check out some spots so at least I would have a plan.  I haven't been to an inland lake this year yet.  I am trying not to go to one.  I am tired of the these lake associations poisoning these lakes for weeds.  I really believe that these chemicals really harm the fish.  I think that they make these fish susceptible to these exotic diseases that have hurt our fisheries over the last few years.  That is just my opinion on the matter. I will stick to St. Clair and Erie.  The fishing is better there and it is always an adventure when going on big water.

fished pontiac for a few hours and caught some nice bass and lots of small pike.  that lake is full of them.

went exploring along shore and was cruising along eating a power bar and this lady come running out of the house and tells me I can't fish along her sea wall or under her dock.  I didn't even have a rod in my hand at the time.  Just as I was about to say something a wakeboard boat comes along with a bunch of kiddies in it with the stero blasting.  The wake went over her seawall and almost tore her pontoon off the dock.  she started yelling at them also.  guess she was having a bad day.   I just smiled at her and continued along.
