Well the bite was hot last night for the Wednesday Nighter. The brownies and greenies were up and locked. I think there was 25 boats and over half had a limit. We had our limit in the first 30 minutes of brown fish and ended up culling up with a few more and one nice 3 pound greenie that was an accident caught by my partner while I was working on a brownie. We ended up third (again!) for $80.00. THe top 3 were 12'12", 12'10" and us at 12'5". The bags suffered a little due to the heavy rain that began falling 30 minutes after we started. The bed fishing became blind casting to likely areas. I did lose a 4 pound smallie twice that would have clinched it for us, but that is fishing. She didn't want to play anymore aftetr that. We caught all our fish on watermelon lil critter craws and watermelon gold tubes in less than 3 feet of water. Many of the fish we caught had large females with them that were very spooky and hard, no impossible, to catch. The top 3 teams all had smallies and the 4th place team (the t-shirt team ;D) had greenies. It was about a 60 percent largemouth weigh-in and I believe a 15-18 pound bag would have been give up if it hadn't been for the rain. We have a full moon and the fish have made a wave to the bank like I haven't seen in several years. Hopefully this cold front won't hurt things too bad. God Bless and Good Fishin'
