Title: Kent Lake 4-30
Post by: fishon1219 on May 01, 2006, 06:06:55 AM
A good friend of mine met me at the kent lake east boat ramp sunday morning for a little CIR season action. My friend was very disappointed in my lake choice for the day because "This lake cant have good fishing in it you can only go 10 MPH." I told him I would prove him wrong by the end of the day. We Started out on the big flat in between the beaches, my buddie complaining that there are no fish here because we are in the middle of the lake. On the 3rd cast I hook the first of many 2 1/2lb smallie's.  We just kept on the outside edges of any point's or sand bars all morning long and ended up with 3 largemouth around 4 lbs and 2 smallies in the same range with a bunch that were 2 lb'ers. Caught every fish on shallow crankbaits. The fish we caught were all pre spawners and I only seen a few beds that were vacent. The water temp was 58, So my guess is the next full moon they will be hitting the beds big time. By the way, my friend is now a believer.
