it is going to be tough and until we stop using the gasoline i don't think the prices are going to budge....on average i saw 87 about 2.90/gal this weekend and a high of 2.99...but as I was heading back to Saginaw from Novi today, there were traffic jams heading south...i am as guilty as anyone but until we can sacrifice and stay put we will continue to be forced to pay...maybe i should get a new rig....say a moped with a kayak trailering behind!!

Might have to start local belly boat circuits.

I love St. Clair and usually use 1/2 a tank of gas each trip.  I have considered that cost and like some of you, may begin looking at fishing more inland tournaments.

My truck now takes $60+ to fill up every 6 days.  It's nuts.

I remember a post on LSC.net asking if anglers were going to change their fishing schedules due to the high prices.  At the time gas was around $2.30 a gal.  At $3, I know I will have to make some changes.  College tuition does not care what the gas prices are.   :o

I am sure we will find one way or another to get on the water.

It has already changed my plans...I am way too cheap to fork out the big $$$ on gas.. I looked forward to fishing BFL this year but that is out!! I figure it is too expensive to donate and fill the tank!!! ;D

The prices are absurd! No one could convince me that the price is necessary; someone (or a bunch of people) is making a load of money and could't care less about the American economy. My rear end is getting soar...

I have changed my schedule around. I am fishing locally and now am coming up with a plan to save my winnings at tournaments so I can travel to BFL or BASS Weekend series, but its going to take a few years to do this. If gas was 1.50 per gallon I'd go this year. I car pool to work now and it sucks, I'm looking to change where I work (I'm a teacher and have few options) plus, I never drive if I don't have to. I don't know how the price can't affect people; if it doesn't, then they have a whole lot more money than me!

It is gonna hurt for sure this year.  But, I REFUSE to let some oil exec change my life.  I am still going to fish as much as I can.  Last year I burned about 850 gal of gas in the boat, and I towed the boat about 9000 miles....hmmm, no shoes for the kids if gas hits $4 a gallon!    :'(

As much as I love St. Clair, it's gonna affect me.   Fewer trips for sure.

I will continue to fish locally, and use my 25 hp to get around.
I can go up and down the whole Half Moon chain for about $10.
But stil, that too is gonna be a drag.

I'm going to cut my consumption in other ways, so I can keep fishing.  I love St. Clair and I'm not going to let this ruin my fun.  I drive 60 miles a day back and forth to work.  Tommorrow I start car pooling.  It's not as convenient since you can't leave whenever you want, and I can't make stops on the way home, but I'd rather car pool than not fish!
