Things are not the same at some of the Famous Taco locations. Bankruptcy and a couple renames seem to have gone hand in hand with food changes. I think the original owners still own them in some capacity. I haven't been to the location DD posted in a while.

There are several new places, but the ones a I REALLY like have been around a while also. Al Dacos on South Cedar St near the I-96 interchange and Meijers - excellent food with a great buffet.

And El Sombreros just down the block from my house (the effect this has on my waistline is readily apparent) just South of the Mary Ave corner on Martin Luther King Blvd (M-99). They know my wife by my voice when she calls... that is a couple miles South of I-496. Being part Mexican on my Stepfather's side, I know my Mexican food!

As far as fishing, I could use a few more trips, but I'm working on that (44 days until Brazil!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ssshhhh don't get me started yet)

Was anyone else surprised that when you register they are not able to tell you how far down the list you are like FLW does?!  I just thought it was odd that they don't have a database with a numerical reference... Anyways, I may be a Co or sitting on a park bench next to Dan waving bye-bye as you guys head out.

I wonder if the Famous Taco that DD posted is the same one I used to ride my bike to back in middle school...

Sounds good...I am going to try to do all 3 in 2011...I just couldn't swing the time off this year....The only way I could do it is not to fish any other tournaments...That wouldn't be much fun...

I entered just the one event.  I called BASS today and they have 107 pros confirmed, with 49 more on the wait list.  As of now I'm 25 on the wait list.  So they need co-anglers.

I signed up as a boater about 8 hours after Bryan did and was also told the field was not full on the boater side but they were short on co-anglers, so if you want to fish as a co-angler I doubt you'll have any trouble getting in.

I called in my deposit for all 3, and all they told me was they are still taking entries, and I would get something in the mail.  They guy I talked to didn't seem real knowledgale.  So assuming I get into them all, I will probably be open to travelling and practicing with someone if anyone is interested.

I entered as a boater and my credit card was charged $400 for the deposit...somehow I just got a confirmation as a co angler ?

you all might want to double check your entry as I DO NOT have any faith in their system!

The real behind kicker is when I called in laughing and in a good mood making a nice joke or two about the mishap Dennette just simply said ok I'll fix that later today...is there anything else I can do for you...talk about no personality.
Im sure liking FLW's treatment a WHOLE lot better!

I still have not gotten anybody on the line after about a dozen attempts. Very poor customer service. I guess I will try after the Classic. Honestly that should be no excuse . In 20 yrs I never called FLW and was not talking to someone within a minute or so.

To fish a tourny of this caliber you should have them all, as a co-angler anyway.

I'd at least have the Walpole because that one isn't easy to get in a hurry.  But Ohio wouldn't be a problem to get.

I buy both licenses from Lakeside tackle....I have never fished Walpole waters but you never know...That is one of the downfalls of going as a Co...

I have bought the Ohio license for 3 years now fishing as a Co in the BFLs....I haven't fished Ohio waters yet...I agree with the comment wait until the meeting and if your Pro is going to fish Ohio waters you can always get an Ohio license online...

FLW doesn't do it but I have fished BASS events where they check licenses before launch.....

Of course the "Book" answer is be prepared but I have been buying 100 dollars worth of licenses every year that I don't fish the covered waters....

Now that my health issues are behind me, hopfully, I decided to enter the BASS Open a couple weeks ago ang got my invitation today. I'm also fishing the BFL on July 17th. I'd like to be able to fish the DK in May but I'll have wait to see on that. I had to have a brain aneurysm repaired back in December and the recovery has been very slow. My doctor told me I would be back to 100% by then. I'm just very glad the doctors found it before it was too late. Looking forward to seeing everbody again.

As we all shot the sh## after the tourney, my cousin just passed a week ago of cancer at the age of 49, we fished and hunted together, ya just never know, On a bright note, I received my confirmation as a boater for the open.

I still hadn't heard anything about my spot in the opens so I called.  When I got a person on the phone, she transfered me to a dead line.  Next time I called I got sent to a voicemail of some lady whose message said she was out of the office until the 23rd.  Next time I got sent to the same voicemail.  I tried the customer service email address and got a call back the next day.  She told me I was "well within the 175", but I was 12 on the waiting list for Champlain, in for Detroit, and 22 on the list for Chesapeake.  She told me that co-anglers are really slow to sign up this year for some reason.   So we'll see I guess.

I think this event will be a little larger than the Erie one last fall because it is in a better location. Hopefully it draws well. I am not signed up to fish it yet but am seriously thinking about it as a boater. I just don't have enough free time to travel as much as I want to this summer. I have tournaments this year on Champlain, Erie, Potomac, and in NC along with a bunch of other things  but maybe I can get the extra week off from my summer job.

OK guy's, who's all going to be there? I'm getting geared up and ready to fish! Haven't been on the big water in a while and I'm getting tired of going through gear from 2 years ago. I'll be getting my tube jigs this week end and some more drop shot baits. It's about time to get this party started! I just got my Save Phace face mask cleaned up and de-cobwebbed, I'm sure that will come in handy, I always draw 1 pro with a single console that likes to run like his pants are on fire. A friend of mine from Fostoria, we live about 3 minutes apart, and I have been going over this tournament for a couple weeks now. His name is Jason Root and he finished 49th at Champlain so he needs a good finish here. But yes, I've fished a lot of tournaments and have never been more excited about any of them as I am about this one. I can't believe it's finally here. IT'S 'BOUT TIME!

Just got home from the meeting and I can't believe who I drew, JVD. I'm gonna have a good time tomorrow even if I don't catch them good. Don, it was great seeing you again, Brian (motorcross) I looked for you but could not find you, maybe at the weigh ins. Good luck everybody!

I had to withdraw at the last minute..I took my wife to the hospital wednesday AM with severe abdominal cramps...They thought it was either a Gall bladder or Appendix gone bad..They ended up running a battery of tests over 2 days and filling her full of morphine..I brought her home today and she still isn't doing well at all....Hopefully being at home will help her feel better...They think it could have been a ruptured cyst or something like that..

This fishing season just hasn't been meant to be this year.....

I called BASS and let them know what was going on...I was so busy at the time I didn't ask about getting my entry fee back...I guess I will cross that road next week....I probably won't get my security deposit back but maybe the other 200 bucks..

My wife has been going through health problems this year also. No one thing more important than your family. Hope every thing goes good.
