Title: KVD and 2007 classic
Post by: plumley on March 30, 2006, 06:24:15 PM
the rule says

PARTICIPANTS AND ELIGIBILITY: (i) This tournament is open only to current members of BASS who are 16 years of age or older. Proof of age to the satisfaction of tournament officials is the responsibility of potential competitor. Any candidate for competition who, in the judgment of the Tournament Director, is disabled in such a manner as to unfairly hinder his partner or endanger the safety and well-being of his partner or himself shall not be eligible. To be eligible for the 2006 Bassmaster Majors, 2007 Bassmaster Classic and Majors, Elite Pro anglers must participate in all 2006 and 2007 Elite Series events in which they are eligible unless approved by the Tournament Director.

so does he get to fish the 2007 classic and the majors?

I would think being DQ'ed constitutes participation.  Because he paid the entry and was ruled inelligible during practise, I would think it would be in the best interest of BASS not to alienate their #1 or #2(Iconelli is a big cash draw) cash cow out there - if he went FLW and not BASS, they would be about done - IMHO.

It appears he will still be eligible as best we can tell from various sources and interpretations.
