My son and I both got the first hunt. Now I am looking for a good used 20ga shotgun for my son. Hunting in Fredric Mi this year,I like to hunt different spots every fwe years. Makes it a challenge. I have 11 birds under my belt, in 9 different spots. Since 1988 when I got hooked.

I took a ride upto camp sat. lots of snow in and around Kalkaska. May be a late season hunt for that area. Hope not we got first hunt. Thelakes still have ice on them with lots of snowmobiles running across them. Got 2" of new snow while we were up there.

Can't wait for April 20! Will be out there nearly everyday for at least an hour or two. We have some good birds behind my home. The owner of the main parcel I hunt counted 117 turkeys behind his house last week.

My son is 11 and will coming with me a few times. A friend wants me to take him out for the first time and try to call one in for him. My next door neighbors (the Mr & Mrs plus two teenage boys) and I tag-team and work together. So in trying to get everyone a chance at a bird it will be hard to get much work done! Good thing I'm self-employed and juggle my hours accordingly! The goal is to get turkeys quickly so I can start fishin' too!
