Entry Fee $5
Big Bass $2
Open to all registered forum members only.
This is a paper tournament, catch, measure & release.
You will need a Golden Rule designed for catch and release with weight conversion based on length.
Format is draw tournament with boater and nonboater fishing as a team.
5 biggest bass between team members will be counted to determine finish.
Biggest non-bass fish (must be in season) brought in to weigh wins the OTHER FISH category prize!
Please note:
Family members may be able to fish together. Please contact me directly by PM or email (http://www.greatlakesbass.com/fishing/contact.html) to arrange this. Family members must still be a registered member if 11 or older. 16 years old or younger must be participating with a parent or legal guardian. Exceptions to this will need to be discussed with me in advance.
If signing up a family member younger than 13 for this event, they must fish with a parent or legal guardian. They will not be able to register as a forum member automatically. You will need to contact me by PM or email (http://www.greatlakesbass.com/fishing/contact.html) to address this issue through other means.
GENERAL INFORMATION
I try to make sure there are as few boats as possible with no one that knows the water. I also like to have a mini-seminar before we launch on where to fish. If someone really needs help they can follow me. Fish right by me.
This event is all about everyone catching some fish!!!
Nonboaters, bring life jackets if you can just to make sure we have enough.
When you throw your name in, please make sure you state whether you want to be a boater or nonboater. I'll do my best to make sure everyone who wants to gets out fishing.

It is actually a specific catch and release Golden Rule with the weight conversion pounds and ounces lined up right on the board with the measurements. I will have paper forms you can enter the weights in on for each team. You just need one of you to have the GR catch and release board in the boat.
I think I have one left from last year for $15. Not sure if I can get more this year yet, but if several people want them, I'll look into it again.
I have one (Golden Rule) that someone can borrow...I like to keep an extra just in case. Especially with all of the trouble I had getting them last year from Golden Rule..

Part of my deal with various official parties and authority figures (and the ladies at work) is that I do not mention her name out loud anymore... nor tell any more Hooter's waitresses that they look just like her... (though I haven't forgotten the last time... ::) :o )

You know I was so sure we would be able to make it this year. We both wanted to after fishing the fall one we really wanted to, however, we have a paper tourney on Hardy that weekend, we have been waiting for the club to come back up here so we won't be able to make it.
It sounds like we will be fishing hardy quite a bit again, oh and that just breaks my heart!!

Did not catch one bass on the crank or yukon's sebile swimbait. When we were leaving the lake we were held up by banditos and they took both baits. I offered them money but they refused and insisted on the baits. ;)

High gas prices are a pretty good cure though (if that is what the lovely gas industry has in mind for us)... except for maybe the real diehards.
FYI, 21-24 mph winds out of the SSE with scattered T-Storms. This will be one to remember! Not backing out, I'll fish in a hurricane, just saying this is going to be fun!!
Given the current post on boat crashes and driving, maybe DK can get one of you salty dogs to give a safety brief before we take off. I volunteer McCarter to do the demonstration.
EDIT: I misclicked the weather report - the high winds are today. Saturday is only 15 mph out of the west, but still Scattered T storms. Wind out of the west should actually be pretty good for us. Stand down! My bad!!
