Title: Important legacy information.
Post by: SODY on September 28, 2008, 08:43:19 PM
Friends, enclosed is a letter I have sent to the FOM leadership team.
Thanks for your support!!

9/28/08

Effective immediately I tenure my resignation as a Fishers of Men director.

This is not because of anything negative about my relationship with FOM or any disappointments, but simply because of personal circumstances that have taken place from January 08 until now.

My mother Evelyn Soderquist suffered from a diabetic induced stroke due to a situation with here medicine. Her blood sugar went very low and was hospitalized for many months. We nearly lost her and by the grace of God she survived. At one point in early spring she was 85 lbs and we were not sure if her memory was coming back or not. I'm pleased to report that she is doing much better, can walk and her memory has returned to a good level. She is in a great nursing home and has the best of care.

As you can imagine this has been a busy year and with this and other commitments many things will be put on the back burner in 2009 as we continue to build our family relationships. I must tell you this has been one of the most difficult decisions I have ever had to make. I have enjoyed the ministry so much and have made many new friends and witnessed many smiles throughout the years.

Julie and I as well as Southbranchoutdoors will continue to support and fish FOMNTT. We will be around the best as time allows, just not in a leadership role.
Please keep my family in your thoughts and prayers as we continue with this and several other issues we are working out.

Yours in Christ
Richard Soderquist

Good Luck, and prayers for your Mom...
I have never fished a FOM tournament, but I watch the results and schedules and am very interested in fishing the Legacy series in a couple of years when my little one gets a little older...

Rich,

My prayers are with you as well.  Take advantage of the time you have to build on the relationship you and your family have with your mother.  It will be treasured.

It was certainly a blessing to meet you and your family during the Legacy tournaments this year.  Hopefully we will see each other in 2009.

Thanks for your kind words guy's your friendship means more than you could ever know, if there is one thing I have learned it is that you never know what some one is going through or what a kind word may do for a person who is having a tough day.

You both took the time out from your busy schedules to make this series a success and it will never be forgotten!!

All,If you have never fished a FOM event , I would encourage you to fish one ASAP, This is one of the most rewarding trails I have ever had the pleasure of being associated with... Rich
