Title: Mullet/Burt Lake
Post by: jimmycast on May 23, 2019, 03:08:10 PM
Hello all!  I'll be heading up north to give Burt/Mullet a try either next week or the week after.  Anybody have information on water temperatures up there? Thank you.

Haven't heard specifics other than everything up there is cold and behind schedule. Yet, big bass are being caught up north lately pretty good.

I?m heading up there on Wednesday.  I?m taking the wife fishing.  I?d like to get her on small mouth.  But in reality just catching fish would be sufficient.
I?ll  be staying about 10 minutes south of Charlevoix.  There are some smaller lakes (st clair, six mile emmerson) not too far from where we?ll be.  Looking at the maps it seems like these might warm sooner than others in the area.
Also it looks like the south arm of Charlevoix might wam up and isnt too far.
The guy I?m renting from says burt/ mullet is a 45 minute drive.
I?m looking for suggestions.   Based on all the factors, (non fisherman wife, cold spring, wanting to hit a lot of bass)asking where to go.
I should add that I?m never going to fish a tx anywhere up there. And secrets shared will remain that way.
I?m not asking for spots, just lakes. Although spots are ok too if you?re re so inclined.
The van dams and Zona all talk about how great it is up there but never mention which lakes.
I don?t have the time or resources to go searching.
Ive never gotten my wife to agree to a fishing vacation before. I?d like to put her on fish.
PM me f you?d like to keep info more private.
Thank you in advance.

I just got back from Interlochen yesterday.  Fished Green Lake with not much success.  Caught a few largies and smallies.  Lost the biggest I had at the boat when I was going for the net.  Saw some fish cruising but they would not bite.  Water temps were 53 to 57.  Did not see any on beds.  Caught my fish in 5 feet on jerkbaits.  Hope this info helps your decision.

Payback bass will be on Burt/Mullet this weekend with 60+ boats.  I would stay closer to where you're renting and fish smaller lakes.

They don't fish secret lakes. They fish the same popular bass lakes most of us fish. They like many of the bigger lakes especially. There's not a lot of 'bad' lakes up there. Great variety with lots of good fish. Sorry I didn't see this earlier. Not sure I even have an up-to-date contact for you fiker?
