Title: 3.88 a gallon
Post by: dartag on May 07, 2008, 01:17:27 PM
just came through Milford and gas was 3.88 a gallon.

thats 25 cents a mile for my truck and
about 1.00 a mile for my boat.

Kent lake 10 mph speed limit is looking better all the time.  Union lake also.

wonder what it will be memorial day weekend.

3.79 a gallon here.

I hit Union a couple weeks ago, and the smallmouth were just starting to move up.

Never fished Kent, but plan on it in the near future.

$3.66 this morning on the way up through South Lyon.   :(    On the way home at 4pm...$3.88!!!   :'(    If that's not gouging, I don't know what is!  I'll still pour it into the tanks though.  Kent Lake is ten minutes from home...looking very good!!

I bought a new Lowrance for the Bow today...I told my wife it will save me gas in the boat because I will be able to more effeciantly fish without having to run around all over...I don't think she bought it... ;D

It was worth a try! My wife keeps hinting that I should trade in my Evinrude 115 for a set of oars.

Since my boat sucks and still wont heal itself, I have been thinking about trading the RAM in on a small car.  I hate cars.  I havent owned a car since i was 16.  Bollocks to cars.  But the more i think about it, the better a horse is sounding.  Why couldnt i just ride a horse to work and Bass Pro Shops?  I will start pricing them out.  If anyone else is interested, let me know. Maybe we can get some kind of horse package deal.

Dan, I will need a new GLBass.com decal for my horse.

McCarter himself :-\'

P.S.  If you see a chucky dude with a wanna be beard galloping bareback down 696 in the future, give a honk.

I was at Dukes Bridge (Indiana) and a gentleman was backing his boat down the ramp with the horse as I pulled up. He tied it up in the parking lot, jumped in the boat and fired up the motor and off he went. Mabie we'll see more ramps with hitching posts!

Yes, but I'm sure he would be riding it sidesaddle. I was happy to pay $4.15 for diesel yesterday somewhere near Watervliet. Tomorrow I have to fill up the boat and truck, OUCH! 34 gallons in the truck and 36 in the boat, at least the boat is half full already.
I think I will be fishing more small lakes close to home this year.

Is it bollocks or bollox? I've never been sure...

I have also seen a nice farmer launch a boat in the past with a horse, but I did not ask him how cost-effective the horse was. I wonder how easy it is to get an emergency shoe repair??

As far as the decal... horseys do sweat so it will probably have to be a tattoo.

My buddy was complaining today about the price of hay to feed all of his wife's horses, so I guess you can't win.
Diesel is $4.09 at Kroger's in Owosso this evening.

sticking to only club events, NBAA Tuesdays and a couple 1on1's this year as I have in the past few. money was tight the last few years due to alimony payments. Now I got outrageous gas prices to deal w/.  will it ever end.. :o

Yes...

probably...

maybe...

hopefully... I know, let's invent something that solves our gas problems?? A hydrogen fueled truck and bass boat maybe...??

I say we remove our gas tanks to make room for more batteries.  Then remove the outboard and line up the transom with like 10 or so trolling motors until motorguide or minn kota comes out with an electric outboard.

3.99 a gallon in Milford.  you can get it for 3.83 cash price at Mobil.  guess they wanted to get an early start to the holiday weekend.  my new truck gets 16 mpg so that is 25 cents a mile :'( :'( :'(

can afford to use the outboard,  might as well get rid of it.
