Just wondering where most of the members are from, so I tried to divide the state up evenly for this poll. I-75 to 127 to I-69 South pretty much splits the state in half. M-55 crosses the entire state right at Houghton lake, and I-69 from Port Huron to Lansing, then I-96 over to Grand rapids makes another nice line. So tell us where yuo're from with this poll, let's see where the biggest group lies. If you do "vote" in the other category, please let us know where that might be. I'd like to know who the farthest away member is.
glad you labeled (saginaw area) behind the one set...I was trying to figure out where I was at.. :D Un-Native land and all...Good Post 8)
I actually live on M-55 (north side of the road though), so I will go with Alpena area over Saginaw. But I am I in the Saginaw area when I get the mail!

On the last forum, there was a member from Singapore - that was the old record although we had a visitor from South Africa at times - that's close. I see readers from Mexico, Israel, Poland, Australia, England, Italy, Germany, Japan, New Zealand and others - I'd have to look at the lists to see again. I used to get a visitor from The Seychelles frequently - some are US military too from various countries.
That is just amazing Dan...like I posted a long time ago...If You build it they will come...
you should be very proud... ;)
I am from the tip of the mitt region. I will be moving off the crooked river soon, sadly, and into the Petoskey area.
I think I voted correct.
I'm not Saginaw area, but north of I-69(barely) east of I=75, south of M-55.
That puts me in Lapeer.
I am from Clarkston!
I am originally from Hillsdale, MI where there actually is a Long Lake in Hillsdale County going along with one of the other posts. But I now live in Corunna, MI.
I notice that there are plenty of members who do not have their location listed in their profile. That's cool if you really like the privacy, but you may miss out a chance to meet someone in the area who shares your interests. I found out that Bulletproof, one of the other members of this forum, lives less than 3 miles from my house! I would have never known, but now thanks to this board I have a new fishing buddy! Think about it. . . . . ::)
Farm town Corunna!! I went to high school and graduated from Owosso High way back in 1980. Worked for the Corunna 'royalty' - the Spaniola's for 3 years. Used to be some huge bass in the old tile pits East of town...
Wow Dan my Dad is from Owosso. isn't that something. Hasn't lived there for years but I still have family there.
i voted the detroit area, more in the "burbs" - call it southwest of detroit - canton area. results looking more members in middle of state i think....
Another "Detroiter" here...
Originally from Detroit, east side. Inner-city born and raised. Graduated from Finney High School. Moved to Lansing in 1985, then to Laingsburg in 1991. I've been here, every since. From the big city to the small town (rural, actually, complete with dirt roads and deer outside my window). You couldn't pay me to go back. I guess I was always a "country boy" at heart.
2 miles north of Toledo, in Temperance Mi.

I'm guessing that he never had to. Call me crazy, but, it was probably a little more obvious in his case (you've never seen me in a "Stetson").
John Denver did, however, thank God for it.
Wixom. Lovely little town nestled between novi and milford. Blink and you'll miss it. Big ford plant off I96. One horse town. Puncsatawney Phil was originally from Wixom.
PoorBoy himself :-\'
Eastpointe. Lived in N.E. Detroit for a while. I can't stand the congestion and the city folk, but I love being so close to Lake St. Clair. I fish it several times a week.
I am a Warren boy. A graduate of Lincoln High in 1984 and still live in the city.
I think it is Ricky Skaggs. The song is Country Boy (1984)...the line goes..
...I'm just country boy
A country boy at heart...
Sorry, I am closet country music fan.

I'm originally from the Motor City but now I reside in Oakland County near Woodward and I-696. The NE border of Oak Park right down the street from the Detroit Zoo.
(Don't let them close the zoo!)
Just west of Ann Arbor.
Right between the Portage Lake chain launch, and the 1/2 moon launch.
2 blocks west of LSC and 5 blocks north of 8 mile Rd.
I see we have a new member named "UPBert". Welcome, you might be the only Yooper on the board! I had a yooper roommate at college, he always called me a troll because I lived "under the bridge" ;D

About 50 new members since this was on page one, kinda interesting, thought I'ld bring it back up. ::)

Yeah - we have more far south/southwest and Indiana anglers, along with a few more westsiders too.

i think i might be blowing by either this weekend or next!
I live in the central Upper Peninsula. Graduated high school from Forest Hills Northern (Grand Rapids) - quite a while back!! Lived in Maine for a few years also. Don't get "down below" much...
The ice actually went out over a week ago - pretty early up here. Have seen it more than once, lakes still froze over for the opening of walleye season May 15th. Hope to have the boat ready and get out crappie fishing this weekend, it's been a long winter!
Fish mostly smallmouth, but run into a good amount of green bass also. Lots of good fishing up here, and the lack of pressure/people on the lakes is easy to get used to.
If anyone ever gets up this way, shoot me a PM and I'll try to get you pointed in the right direction.
UPBert
"Detroiter" over here.
Jackson here.
Horton... Horton who?
Yeah that's right!
Hey Poorboy... If Wixom is a one horse town... what's mine?
joshimoto son ;D
You can be a one Llama town. Or maybe a one Emu town.
PoorBoy himself :-\'
Hey! My new claim to fame! I live in the same town as PoorBoy!

I live in Mason, "the land of no lakes."
Zeeland ( Lake Michigan Side ) 10mins East of Holland 20mins west of Grand Rapids ;D
Yeah Ryan - I always refer to my home base Lansing as the 'desert of Michigan.' But at least we are half way to everywhere.
Andy and I are west siders. I live in Hudsonville which is a couple of muck fields from Zeeland and is the celery capital. Great high school football teams and Kgr can atest to some very good high school baseball teams as well.
I live in a dry county....by dry I mean Saginaw County doesn't have any lakes in it. I believe the only county like it in Michigan..sure we have the River but no lakes.
Growing up in Northern Michigan, I couldn't believe that Michigan had an area as flat as the Saginaw area either..

Petoskey

Hard to believe, but I live in Durand (between Flint AND Lansing). The only water in Shiawassee is the river, but it's loaded with smallies. Oh, an by the way I used to work with a woman that was one of Omer's Sucker queens ;D
I can honestly say I've never met an Omer Sucker Queen!?! ;D
As the name says I am a sunset side resident. The little village of Spring Lake.
Pinckney, on the Portage Chain.
Live in Wyoming... but I've been known to fish just about anywhere they are biting!! St. Clair? Yup. Maumee river? Yup. Glen Lake? Yup. Mid Michigan? Yup. Southern Michigan? Yup. I love to fish... anywhere!!!
Thanks for being members guys and gals.
How's that Maumee River for fishing? I would imagine there's a few snags...?
Hey Waterfoul,
I lived in Wyoming for years, that is if you're talking Wyoming, MI. My mom, sisters, brother, still live in Wyoming. I'm in Hudsonville.

You can tell winter is here.. ;D
I live in Almont now, but I am originally from Eaton Rapids. From one small town to another...I am not cut out for the big cities.
I did date a Miss Curwood (Castle) twice back in the last century...
Can't believe you left the ONLY Eaton Rapids on the face of the Earth.
It's pretty bad when that is your "only" claim to fame...
I think Eaton Rapids had an Ice Cream queen.....
Has anyone fished Duck Lake or Narrow Lake south of Eaton Rapids/Lansing lately...I don't here too much about them. We used to get a few down there.
swartz creek ,just west of flint .
