Harley Ensign MDNR Ramp - end of South River Rd
Entry Fee $5 per angler 13 and older (required)
Big Bass $2 per angler 13 and older (required)

This is a paper tournament - catch, measure & release.*
IMPORTANT: Each boat will need a Largemouth Bass Weighmaster Golden Rule designed for catch and release with weight conversion based on length.2
Format is draw tournament with boater and nonboater fishing as a team. 5 biggest bass between the two or three team members will be counted to determine finish.
*Biggest non-bass fish brought in to weigh wins the coveted BIG UGLY prize! Fish must be in season and legally caught to count.
1Please note:
Family members may be able to fish together. Please contact me directly by PM (http://www.greatlakesbass.com/forum/index.php?action=pm;sa=send;u=1), phone 810-433-BASS (2277) or email (http://glbass.com/contact) to arrange this. I would prefer family members 18 and older be a registered member of GreatLakesBass.com. I will not request that for family members under 18 and prefer not to have family members under 13 register due to federal privacy regulations. If you have a family member that wants to fish but not be a member, please contact me privately prior to the event. Youth 17 years or younger must be participating with a parent or legal guardian. Exceptions to this will need to be discussed with me in advance. Use the contact information above please. Thank you.
2 If you don't have the correct paper tournament Weighmaster Golden Rule board (available from Gator) you can use a regular board. Measure the bass based on the farthest line the tail touches or goes over. Bring the board in to me and I can come up with a closest conversion in weights for you to finish tallying your weights - you probably won't get as much weight credit fyi. Please try to get the Weighmaster board from someone or some place. I don't have any more extras and can't buy them at a discount anymore.
GENERAL INFORMATION
Nonboaters please bring life jackets to make sure we have enough. Life jackets must be worn zipped and/or buckled whenever the gas motor is running. Boater must use working kill switch when gas motor is running.
No live bait. Artificials only.
I try to make sure there are as few boats as possible with no one that knows the water. I can have a mini-seminar before we launch on where to fish for people who ask about it.
This event is all about everyone catching some fish, having fun and getting to know each other, and also to honor the memory one of our greatest members - David 'MadWags' Wagensomer!!! Thank you for being members of GreatLakesBass.com.
If you have anything new or like new you'd like to donate for prize giveaways, please contact (http://glbass.com/contact) me.
Post that you are attending, and if attending as a boater or nonboater in this thread please. It is easier for me to keep track if your status is in this thread rather than only through some other contact means like PM, phone, email, etc. Thanks!
Boater for me.
Count me in as a boater at this point.
Don't think I'll be doing it this year - Dale Hollow trip with family is the same weekend.
I am up for it again, hopefully the 3rd time is the charm at catching a LSC smallie! I can more than likely be a boater this year if needed. Maybe the back of the boat is just not cut out for me (I am looking for any excuses).
SteverR and I discussed coming out again while on the hardwater yesterday so tentatively count us in as well! Just need to make sure we have the time off etc.
Boater
Hey Don At least you don't have to follow me at Idle speed this year.

I didn't do much better for Dan... ::)

There were fish around us though Jeff, you proved that!
Would it mess many people up if I switched the event to Saturday, May 13 to be close to the MLSC LSC bass outing on that Monday?
Sounds great to me😀
If the date stays the 6th you can count me in. Unfortunately the 13th is my weekend to work. Having to work every other weekend sucks sometimes.
I would be able to attend on the 13th.
I like the 13th.
That puts it the day before Mothers Day - I believe that is why I've been avoiding that weekend.
Leave it the 6th. Should be good bedding with the full moon on the 10th.
Yes, I don't want to mess with Mother's Day.
I can make either date. I still have to take off work but shouldn't be a problem. I'd prefer the 6th though for the same reasons.
Going with the 6th.
Dan,
I will most likely fish on the 6th, but I would definitely not be able to fish on the 13rh.
JC
I'm a boater fishing with Tdroulliard.
I'd really like to attend this year. Due to circumstances beyond my control, it will have to be as a non boater. If there is room I will go. If boats are too crowded, I will let someone else have my spot.

Got no one with me. Your welcome to ride along. We have to go slow and stay out of Laporte's way. I held him up last year with my slow little Ranger. But we did win so I guess it was ok
I don't think I will have a hard time following you... :-*

You would need a parachute and 3 sea anchors over the side at idle to follow my little Ranger. 40 mph in the right lane with the flashers on is my speed. Old people can't drive fast. But you are welcome to follow me and I will sow you what I have found. Got a couple new places to check out this spring.
Me and my Wife Donna
will attend. Count me in.
I will attend if I can get my fuel gauge fixed by then. The guy who was supposed to fix it has been unavailable. I would be a boater. I will be following Dartag and casting at the front of his boat. :P
Just fill her up and follow me. Remember I drive slow. We know where they live. :)
I should be able to make it this year, but sign me up as non-boater.
I am in for sure. I plan on being a boater, but want to make sure everything is in working order. If not I will jump to non boater side.
count me and my son in as boater only one

That was my son's swim team walk out song. They used to Blast It on the pool speakers.

Me too! At least it can happen pretty fast if it has half a chance to do so!
I'll be there and if Mcfish decides to come I'll take him.
Heck yes, count me in. I'd like to take Mark up on his offer please.
I want to fish.... Sign me up as a boater. :)
You will most certainly have a blast fishing with Mark. I've been in the boat with him twice now. Get ready to learn.

There's always the canals for LM.
how is the mix of boaters to non-boaters?
I'm in as a boater.
Looks like lots of boaters to me.
If the numbers work out ok, I would prefer going in as a non-boater.
Hello everyone. I'm new to the site. Frickerdude and I where nailing some smallies on the bay in November. He informed me on your outing and it sounds like a good time with a lot of good people. So count me in as a boater. My wife can't make it so there will be an open seat on my boat.Looking forward to meeting everyone and having a great day on the water!!
hey dan may not make it now had some moter issues this morning.
Well... this is sneaking up on me! In the next few days I'll put something together based on what everyone has posted so far. Fishing should be getting good right about that time. Wish for nice weather just to help!!

Yes - he mentioned that already. I put him down as the boater for now but can change it, no big deal, if you let me know.
The May 6 event has been CANCELED due to small craft advisory. Please see the new post about the rescheduled event on Saturday, May 20. Thanks!
Sounds good. I was gonna skip it anyway because of the weather.
