Fished the mile reds today from 10-2. Water temps were 61 degrees and the water had a slight stain for the most part. Pretty strong south wind made it a fun boat ride. The floating grass was a pain with the trap and the spinner bait.
Only three bites today but one was my biggest smallie yet, 6.1lbs. Caught it in 6 feet on a trap. Another 4lb smallie in a different area on a swimbait and a small Muskie on a trap both in 6-7 feet. Tried out deeper and shallow with no luck.
Thought it was gonna be the day after I caught the pig in the first 10 minutes, especially with a warm sunny day with a cold front on the way. Never works out like you expect...
Nice, Looks like she's been feeding very well
Well, if you aren't going to catch a bunch a 6+ is a pretty good 2nd choice! Congratulations, and thanks for the fishing report!
