I just found out about this police state action apparently by the OMNR over in Mitchell's Bay towards an evil bass tournament there recently: http://stclairreport.com/omnr-threatens-800-fine-for-trailer-weigh-in-mitchells-bay-canada/
$800 fine threatened towards anglers if they pulled their boats out of the water with bass in the livewell and a fine for the tournament organizer too - for transporting fish! I would have told the person (I won't honor them with officer) that I was keeping the bass so go away. What? I'm not allowed to keep bass? Oh, you know I'm going to let them go... then I'm not transporting them anywhere am you dim bulb...
If we let them, they will continue to treat us like 2nd-class citizens. This is one of the dumbest things I've heard an agency do to a bass tournament yet! I hope there's a cry of police state outrage against this stupid, wasteful, negative harassment of bass anglers who do NOT deserve this kind of attention considering the positive effect bass tournaments have on their natural resource economy.
I'm going to do an article about harassment of bass tournament anglers by the OMNR and call them asking for an official comment about things like don't bass anglers have the right to keep bass? So how could the OMNR accuse them of transporting bass? Don't they know bass tournament anglers are letting the bass go right back into the same water they came from? Is the OMNR trying to end the fishing of bass tournaments? Should be interesting...
Go get them Dan!
I'm told by the Ontario CD that they are reviewing this regulation. Not fast enough apparently for some agents.
