Title: FLW 2008 Fantasy Fishing
Post by: Fishmael on December 11, 2007, 01:20:02 PM
Hey, everyone should sign up for the FLW 2008 fantasy fishing.  They are giving away $100K for the fantasy winner of each event.  In addition, they are supposedly (according to the website) giving away $1,000,000 to the fantasy points winner at the end of the year.  I just signed up, but think that we should get a GLB league together.  Let me know who wants to create the league or if I should.  Here is the site to sign up.

Yahoooo!!!! That's big money.  Maybe I will win more than a T-shirt this year.  I wonder if that counts towards your career FLW earnings ??? LOL.. ::)

Wow, they have really uped the ante this year.  I have been playing FLW Fantasy fishing for the past two seasons, but this year they are taking it to another level.

OK everyone, I created a league.  The details are as follows:

League ID: 37 (Yeah, I got on the band wagon pretty quick!)
Password: bigbass4u
Name: Great Lakes Bass League

Let me know if you can't get in.  This should be fun.  We've got to commit to having someone from our league win at least one of the $100K  ;D

It won't let me join the league.  Gives me a message that the League ID is not valid.

Send me an e-mail to thebroncrider@yahoo.com and I will send out an invite from the site to the league.  That should fix it.

Thanks,

OK, I sent the invitations for the ones who couldn't sign up.  Let me know if the invitation method worked for you all.  Also, if anyone else has trouble signing up, send me an email as well.  This will be fun to have a large league.  More chances that one of us will win the big $.

Thanks.

I see that you get a $15 Wal-Mart gift card if you sign up now for the Angler's Advantage.  I haven't decided and haven't found a spot to put it in the budget.  :o  It looks like there will be a lot of cool tools available through it.  I just don't know if I want to spend the money...and the experts never pick them right anyhow!  How do they pick the experts anyway?!  ???

Don't forget that the rosters become available tomorrow.  Also, for anyone who has not signed up, today is the last day to get in on the $5 Million bonus for picking the top 7 anglers of an event.  Last year, I picked people I thought would do well and lost.  This year, I'm picking people I think will do poorly...I should win the league, right?! ;D

Wow if you dont get Players Advantage you are totally in the dark. FLW gives no info at all without the PA, I think its a crappy way to force people to spend $40 and Im not paying it. I bet enough people pay it to cover the payout and then some.

I agree T, I'm not paying either.  I picked my top 7 already, don't know half of them, but hey, I left my roster for BASS alone last year and ended up in 4th, so what the hey!!!

I can't fill out a roster. What am I doing wrong. I go to edit my roster and click on an angler name. When I do that the angler shows up on a page with some profile info but when I go to select another angler there isn't anyone on my roster.????

Dan, are you clicking the + sign the left of the players name?

Hey T,
I tried everything so far. Nothing happens when I click on the green plus sign. I wonder if because I am the "League Commisioner" it that means I also have to join the league as a player. So, I  sent myself an invitation and used another email address to do so and when I sign in with # and password the same problem occurs. I sent a help request in twice and haven't heard a thing.

Dan,
I thought mine wasn't working either because when I passed the curser over the + sign it didn't highlight it or indicate it was "live". However when I clicked it it did move an angler to my roster at the top of the page. Do you have a popup blocker enabled? That's something that may be an issue? Just a thought

I'm a Mac user and have Safari as a browser. I opened Firefox and used it instead and was able to assemble my roster. Some kind of platform problem. Just like now. I'm using Firefox and this comment window is missing lines. Oh well. Looks like I'm all set though. Thanks.

Hey all,

Can someone post the final standings for our GLB FLW league?  I cannot access the site from work to see how I did this past week.

Thanks,
