As I begin the journey to go to work on Sylvan Lake as my new home inland lake, I found Smallies and Largies. Question: any advice where the bigger fish should be this time of year ? I know zero about the lake. Any honey holes I need to check out ? Any insight is good. No tournaments coming, just looking to get wife and kids on bigger fish fast !
We fished Sylvan last week
The fish were shallow, I myself like Orr better cover and weeds
Mike, Send me a E-mail address and I'll send you a map with my spots
I've heard the bigger fish do not behave the same in that lake as you'd expect though I've heard nothing specific really. It sounds like a fun lake to fish though if you keep an open mind and keep looking.
The fun part of the lake is the Launch
There's some weed smoking going on back there and now and then you see the working girls
Really bad launch but it keeps the fishing pressure off the lake
Wow! Sounds like fun... ::)
Keep your head on a swivel, Mojo....the "boaters" that live on that lake have little respect for anglers. I've had waterskiers go within 50' of me numerous times over the years. And it doesn't matter if you are the only boat within 400 yards, they're going by you within casting distance. Funny thing- both lm & sm quit growing in that lake once they hit 17.5" long......but a few years back I saw a guy that had 5 walleye between 19-25", and I didn't know walleye were in the lake.
Where did you hear that bass quit growing at 17.5" long in Sylvan Lake? I have a friend who lives on the lake who has caught bass bigger than that. He's sent me pictures over the past couple years.
Just kidding about the length. (just my past failures).Not kidding about how close some boaters "enjoy" the lake....
Yes, ain't it the truth...
