Up to 50 New Zealand Mud Snails can fit on a dime due to their small size of 1/8th inch maximumNew Zealand Mud Snails have been discovered in the East Branch of the Au Sable River, just downstream of the Harrietta Hills Trout Farm-Grayling. These invasive snails can spread throughout a river system and damage fisheries. Your commitment to wader and gear decontamination is critical to prevent the spread.

Last year we reported confirmation of New Zealand Mud Snails in the Pere Marquette River. We now have the unfortunate responsibility to inform you that they have also been confirmed in the Au Sable River watershed.
