Title: Madwags report and pics
Post by: Firefighter Jeff on May 09, 2016, 09:18:05 PM

I hear fifteen of the 25 boats went to Moot???  I should have played follow the leader.  Have never fished in there.  Dan Kimmel has me too scared.  LOL  I know the water is up.  I should have considered it.  I fished with Frickerdude (Kyle).  I was out the day before.  I knew the fishing hadn't been too good along the mile roads so I fished Anchor Bay.  I only had 5 smallies the day before but one of them was a 6.1   I decided then that we'd fish Anchor and chuck rattlebaits all day long and try to grind out a decent bag. Maybe luck into a couple of big ones.  I had three different colored lipless tied on and that's the only rods I had out.  First fish was a 4.4 on the Golden Rule (Actually went 4.15)  Like all the other guy's most fish weigh more than what the Golden Rule suggests.  I wonder what the actual weight of the big bass was ?  Anyway Kyle and I only hooked and netted 9 fish for the day.  Think we had one small Musky. We ended up with 14.14  Not sure where that put us amongst the others. Even though we didn't place I had a great time on the water with Kyle. He's welcome in my boat anytime.
It was great seeing everyone again, and even better getting to know a few of you better.  Thanks again Dan Kimmel !!!!

This was right after Dan finished the morning meeting.  Sorry, didn't think of getting the phone out fast enough.

Nope, I'm afraid you didn't avoid the cameras.  I didn't want to post too many pics, plus the big dumpster (Our usual picinic area) was there in the background.  LOL   ::)   Red hat everyone is Mike !!!!

Thanks for all the pictures FF! I had my camera there in VinceR's truck and forgot to get it out and volunteer someone to take pictures! Well, at least I remembered to have everyone introduce themselves! I had several people set to remind me! That's what I need.

Had a great time fishing with Jeff and being his designated netter.  St Clair humbled me again with keeping her bronze backs off of my poles 2 years running.  Mad Wags the last 2 years have been on only fishing trips to St Clair but that is going to change! I have recently purchase a boat worthy of taking to St Clair and plan on making the 2 hour trip back down soon to get hopefully hooking and landing one of those beauties, and it will be all the sweeter when that first one falls victim to the tasty looking treat I will be throwing that day!  Thanks to Dan and everyone else that made this day possible.  It was great meeting new faces and being able to put a face to some of the screen names.  Looking forward to next years gathering already!
