Title: Mullett Lake
Post by: robhj on October 13, 2015, 11:44:46 AM
Headed up to Mullett Lake this past weekend on short notice. Fished Saturday and Sunday. The fishing was tougher than usual, but great opportunity to use my new wind sock. The fish seemed to be deeper, and we caught a few on cranks and dropshot. Water temps were 58-60. Tried Douglas on Saturday in an attempt to get out of the wind, but still had a tough time with boat position. We managed a few pike and a largie on Douglas. When the fishing is tough up there I always remind myself that the next cast could be a new personal best. Although I didn't get any PB, my brother did get his second biggest smallie, a 5.97 which was caught on a dropshotted Reins Bubbling Shaker, pumpkin color in 18 feet of water.

Nice fish, it's been a tough bite so far, need the temps to drop and the wind to settle.  Douglas was really good to the wife and I two weeks ago with 66 degree water, but we've had so many fronts since then the fishing has been slow.

Why is there a large pole sticking up out of your front deck??
