Title: Portage Chain Pinckney, MI
Post by: 32eml24 on August 18, 2015, 07:14:37 PM
Can you take the river from Strawberry up to Ore Lake and get in?  Is there a launch on Ore?  If there is a launch on Ore, can you get into the Huron river under the little bridge?  I will be staying there this weekend for my bachelor party.  Any tournaments there this weekend?

Thanks,
Ethan

you can get up there in a small boat.  The challenge is getting under the bridge at the entrance to the lake.  Heard some guys went up there from Portage and won a tournament a couple years ago.  Would be a fun adventure.

You can get in there with a tracker type boat unless the water is high. You won't be able to get in or out with a glass boat and there is no public launch. I think there is a Michigan NTBA tournament out there this weekend but I don't know any details.

Looks like a long boat ride up the river too.

Just plug in the Apocalypse Now CD and head up river.

That's an idea... but I'm pretty sure neither my boat nor Derek's will fit under that bridge... someone else with a smaller boat could take me!
