Have any of you had a chance to play with these at the shows or local retailers? What do you think? Smaller screen than most 5" units out there but it is a "wide screen" format like the larger series. They still take the Lakemaster chips, offer downscan, sidescan, and standard sonar at what seems like a reasonable price. The appear to operate just like my 977, which is nice.
Looking for opinions on these units... but would rather not see all the "you should get a Lowrance XYZ unit," I know all about those already, thanks.
I was wondering the same. They seem to have all the main features as their larger, more expensive big brothers. Wish they were out last year before I dropped a thousand bucks on the 899!!!! I'm almost disappointed I was able to fix my front graph. Would have been a great excuse to give one a try haha

and SI for $499 almost tempetd but holding out for a lightly used 800-900 SI unit
That $499 price is a standard retail price... you won't find the Helix units discounted anywhere this year. On sale maybe, but not discounted.
thinking about a little longer i could just add a Helix SI unit and use it for SI only, hmmmmm
maybe not
Bought one this winter and played with it through the ice... awesome unit loaded with features you expect from hb.
