Title: 2014 Swap Meet
Post by: bob o on December 01, 2013, 05:03:26 PM
This year it's been pushed back a week because of the Outdoorama the week before. Saturday March 8th 2014, 12 noon samr place in Livonia. man time files. so far same as the years before, but this year bring anything you want to swap, sell or give away. There is also a plan to have a silent auction to help out a family in need of a little help see the link http://breanna.brandirawks.com/. so if you have any new things to donate for the auction it would be a big help. this is the first year for this auction so lets see what happens.
Back the the swap meet i make a batch of chile every year and as always it will be a bigger batch this year this is not wimpy nor is it so hot you can't eat it, you are invited to bring a plate to pass if you want, chips, cookies, more meat for the grill etc you get the idea. i start this out with a case of beer (the non lite kind) the rest is up to you.
so bring a fist full of 20's or just kick back and BS about last year or this comming spring

see ya at the ramp

if i forgot anything i'm sure i'll hear about it

Bob,
If you have to go to a tent, that would mean outdoors, in which case we would need to move the date to March.
Title: Re: 2014 Swap Meet
Post by: bob o on December 18, 2013, 06:26:34 AM
Mojo, the more the merrier.

bigjc, it is in March. but i'm sure we can hold off on the tent idea for now.

Rick and Mike, rick might be just buying parts so maybe one day he can build his own boat a RangCatSkeetChampEeternater X2000  ;D

I don't have any way to mandate what you and Frank do in a truck..? I would suggest you keep it legal just as friendly advice... maybe follow all international trade agreements?!? but a video might be fun for people...

I have a Fenwick 7ft 6in Telescopic HMX-T... 1/4-1 1/4 lure weight, 10-25lb line rating, MH Fast tip that might work for you... This was going to be a frog rod for me, But I don't think I used it but a couple times. Frog fishing just hasn't been what I have done in the last year or so. I bought this rod new last winter and is still in the same condition.

It may not be heavy enough for your needs.. I don't musky fish and not sure what your looking for...

This year there will also be a silent auction to help out a family in need of our help. Please see the link http://breanna.brandirawks.com/. I'm asking for any donations for the auction. So if you pour plastics or lead, paint baits, or have new or vintage baits or anything you wish to donate please get in contact with me so we can get a table ready early that way everyone gets a good look at what's for auction. We may also be able to "package" items in small tackle boxes before the auction starts, it's much nicer to get a weight kit instead of a plastic bag full of weights or jigs etc.
What is a Silent Auction? This link should help out.

Thought I'd ask

I'm a little over stocked on 10# Fluoro
Seeing how I just picked up a 1000 yd bulk spool

Would anyone be interested in 200 yds of Sunline Sniper for 20 bucks or 200 yds of Invizx for 15
It's 5 bucks off a box. All fresh this year

I'm an FNG and had planned to be there.  I have a box on the bar with about 15 unopened lures of various types (Strike King Pro Model cranks, big muskie size Xwalks, XRaps, and  DT Thugs) and multiple bags of plastics that I had intended to bring.

Instead I may be laying a floor in the basement of my daughter's house under direct supervision of her mother.

How late does this event typically run?  I may be able to wrap up by 2 or 3.

Last time, by the time I went home it was dark.  It's a good time. Bob and his wife are great hosts.  Fishermen can shoot the breeze FOREVER.

to Mr and Mrs Bob O... Thank you for opening your house to us as graciously and kindly as you did for us.... You are a gift to our community...

Ok maybe some of you out there don't plan well, or you're not seeing value here. Maybe for just as well ...more for us  ;D.. Here what you guys coulda got in on..... Hundreds of soft plastics, all trading around a $1 a bag, ISKI, $6-15 crank baits for $2 -4 bucks, props reconditioned $50-150.  USKI, Fish finders $50. Rods reels $10-40 bucks,  frog rods $20, WeSKI!!! Every kind of new and old baits, good reels too!

Personally, this is a better event than the UFS because of the comrodre  and good people. Soooooo. If I remember right, I brought 2 boxes of stuff I didn't need, traded nearly ALL of it. Gave it away. Came home money neutral (cant count the $20 in auction donations) and a hell of a hang over ( too much cola).

That was fun fun fun. Gotta put the hair back up and get back to it.... See you next year, and you better be there. Yes you. You reading this, no excuses. Unless you aren't into people, stories, drinks, food, fun, more stories, (drinks?) some Swappin.

Thanks again to bob & mrs. O. for letting us hang out. With this winter as depressing as it was, I think we all needed Saturday to keep our saneness. I got a reel, shirt,(thanks bob) and a bill dance bobblehead (thanks mojo). I forgot to ask why Frank wasn't there. Some new faces (for me) and lots of stuff to chose from. It was good to see you all....mark
