Title: Saginaw bay 8-17-13
Post by: gmetime24 on August 18, 2013, 09:13:23 PM
I have been trying to get a good day to run out of au gres and this weekend the weather was great. We took off from the au gres river and headed for the little charity. Water temp was 71 and clarity was about 5ft. No bites in 45 mins and I had to search for cleaner water

We made about a 4 mile run and got near the north side of the big charity island. I found a nice ledge with big boulders, clarity was 10ft, and minutes later it was on. We caught about 15 smallies in an hour. Most fish were a little small but I landed a beautiful 21inch 5.53lbs brute. One the the best fights from a fish in my life. The other smallie in the pic is a
16.5 inch 2.7lbs. Drop shot was the key wih small worms in white and pearl colors. The beast came on a poor boys DS darter

Saginaw Bay is a smallmouth bass paradise... when the wind isn't blowing too hard. Glad you got a giant. There are more out there. Be safe and go get 'em!
