Title: Fat Perch
Post by: Duke on February 21, 2007, 10:20:09 PM
Teaching has become a part-time job. Had another day off today - fog. I think we'll get out for the summer on the 4th of July.   :'(

Anyhow, I made the most of my day. I got real intimate with my new Vexilar. I couldn't mark any fish deep except for one and it didn't like what I dropped down to it. Nevertheless, I was catching some really fat perch between 5-6' all over the lake. They were real hungry and their bellies were about to burst. I was a bit surprised, but pleased. I only caught one bluegill. Seems that the perch were scaring the bluegill away (I'm sure thats not the case). Nevertheless, I was able to make the day into a positive. Looking forward to getting out again Saturday.

I will acknowledge that it was WET. My feet were soaked before the day was over. But I still found 10-11" of ice everywhere. Wonder how much longer that will last.

Puts a whole new perspective on the term " flippin' the holes" doesn't it?
