as of last week i heard there were only 25 +/- boats signed up for this event...that from BASS HQ's

I think that is on par with other states/divisions.  There definitely isn't a big draw to the BASS series or it might just take a few years.  Also, I am not sure starting the series on the Grand on St. Clair's opening weekend was a smart thing to do.  It should be an easy year to get to the regionals though.
