A friend of mine had a booth at the Expo center in Birchrun last weekend. The local fishermen there told him, that there was a large chunk of ice That broke off in the Saginaw river. Just down stream from one of the boat ramps. The Walleye fishermen are dragging thier boats down to the ice, then using poles to help the boat and them selfs out across the ice to the 2 hundred yard area of open water. start trolling around then catching limits of Walleye in around 2 hrs of time. Now that's off the hook!
