Pushed myself to go out even though it was 29 degrees. Started slow. 2 hrs. Nothing. Drop shot, crank, spinner and plastics...notta. Then moved to the go to spot when all else fails. Started getting windy (SE). Seemed like it got colder as the morning progressed. Well I started fishing on a current break. Bam, got one...Finally. Then got about a 4 lb er. Then got a 5.27 then 2 more casts 5.17 lbs. Starting to get better. Then the line took off, pole bent in half then poof....gone. Probably a musky or pike. Big though. Anyway ended up with about 15. Not the best day. Forgot to say also, all largemouth. Zero smallies. All plastics, oh well.
What's wrong with any of that? Sounds like a pretty good day to me!!
Guess I was just getting spoiled. Detroit river, lake St. Clair and Erie will do that to you. I've never caught as many fish as I have in one day as in these. Minus St.Clair. I've never fished it yet
