Title: Need A Boater (I Think)
Post by: gbaade on November 27, 2006, 05:54:50 PM
Hey fellas,

I have been checking in to joining BFL for a while now. I talked to Dan Kimmel and he gave me a run down on how it works and what to do. I am really unfamiliar with the nuances of it all so if I am off base here feel free to slap me around. I am looking for a boater to sign up with for all the events during the Michigan 2007 season. If you would like to ask me some questions about age experience or whatever feel free. And like I said. If I am going about this the wrong way then feel free to tell me that too!

Thanks a ton

You are doing just fine.  Age and experience won't matter to the boater that you sign up with since your boater at every tournament will be picked by random draw.  The only thing that really matters when you sign up with a boater (to guarantee a spot in the tournaments) is paying for and fishing the tournaments.  Good luck.

Moved it over here so more of the BFL anglers will see the post. Better odds that way. gbaade, keep me posted if you don't find someone in the next few weeks. I get contacted by boaters and co-anglers off and on looking for someone to sign up with.

What date does the sign up start for the Michigan division anyway?

Your doing it right..

Remember signing up with the boater, just gets you a spot in the tourney.

Every tourney you'll draw a different "pro" so you have no connections to the "pro" you are signing up with for registration.

As far as time is concerned, we have never had a full field of 200 in the last 3 years I've been in. So as long as you sign-up with a "pro" boater in the next couple of months. You'll be fine for the season.

I've signed up with the same boater for last 3 years for registration and I wish I would get paired with him. But draw hasn't worked out that way.

Feel free to post your questions on here and we'll help you out - Team Houston is a stud on the co side - So ask him how to catch'em  ;D

Feel free to email me direct curadokev at yahoo dot com - If you have questions about equipment, lures, pro gas money etc..

Welcome to the BFL,

Ckev

I have found a boater over on the lakestclair.net site. I am pumped about the upcoming season and look forward to meeting all of you in the Spring. Has a rookie ever won the whole thing? ::) J/K I will be lucky to catch a fish! I just want to learn the tricks of the trade from you crafty veterans.

And to Curadokev I must say THANKS A TON!

Yes, Chad Pipken was a rookie co-angler in 2005 and won the points championship. He fished as a boater this year. Good luck in 07 GB
