Hey guys

Does anyone know which humminbird unit comes with both the side imaging and down imaging options?

I remember seeing a unit with both but after actually looking for it I am just finding one or the other.

Any ideas?

Also any thoughts on which hb unit is the best for lake Erie smallmouth fishing?

I thought I understood that you could download and add DI to most Humminbird side imaging units? I'll have to check on that.

This model does state both: 798CI HD SI COMBO

All Side Imaging units have Down Imaging included.  The current models include 798, 898, 998, 1198.  Some of the earlier Side Imaging models (797 and 997) were able to add Down Imaging through a software update.

The new DI models, however, do not have Side Imaging capabilities and cannot be upgraded via software updates or transducer upgrades.

All units have traditional 2D sonar.
