Title: GT bays
Post by: bigmojet on August 24, 2011, 10:16:58 AM
Anyone know what depths guys are fishing the bays. I'm assuming most are dropshotting.

Been fishing local inland lakes up here with limited success.

Thanks

No specifics recently but they are usually anywhere from 15 to 35 feet depending on what part of the bay, clarity, brightness and cover or no cover.

buddy of mine tore the smallies up while perch fishing a week or so ago... so i would say - go look for the perch.

That is a good problem to have! That works on other deep lakes this time year and a little later too like Torch and Charlevoix. Just drive around watching the graph until you see a big school of bait over deep flat. Sometimes that is the only way I find them.

I fished the East Bay 3 weeks ago and was catching them 9'-30' on Drop.

That's kind of what I hear. One day they are up on the top and later the same day or the next they are back out deep. Luckily in many areas there's not a lot of distance between the two depths!

Thanks all. I will have to put the sidescan to work. Wondering if these last couple of.nights with temps in the 40's will change things up.

It will definitely start changing things up.
