I'll be camping at the KOA in Muskegon after the 4th of july and am looking for a lake to fish, any of you sunset siders got any pointers?
What lake or lakes are you going to fish. Muskegon,White,Mona,The Grand River,Spring Lake??
Thats what I am trying to figure out, never fished over there.
I'd recommend Muskegon or White overall. They have some similarities - you'll be fishing for largemouths mostly in White, but either bass in Muskegon. Both interesting and complex lakes (meaning lots of things to fish).
I like both Muskegon and White lakes. I think Muskegon is a more diverse fishery. You catch just about anything out there. Depending on the time of year you can Perch and other pan fish, Small and Large mouth Bass, Pike, Walleye, White fish and really big Sheeps Head...Yum!!! Just kidding!
It isn't really Walleye time out on Muskegon yet but if you are going to try don't bother going out in the day light. Most of the time the best bite is after mid-night.
Bass and Pike can be caught anywhere, anytime.
