Title: Fish Kill
Post by: Dan on May 09, 2011, 12:35:11 PM
Talked to a buddy of mine that spends quite a bit of time on Lake Erie and he says that there have been reports of larger than normal fish kills, especially walleyes on Erie. Anybody else hear anything like this? Dave Kolb, a walleye pro practicing for next weekends FLW Walleye Tournament out of Port Clinton, said that they had found a walleye that they said was floating but still kicking. They scooped it up, and called the DNR to have them take a look at it.

I saw quite a few dead fish on LSC...An Article in the paper said the DNR was looking into it but their first thoughts were the harsher than normal winter...

It has been rough on them. Hopefully it's nothing worse than normal winter stress added on to spawning stress. I haven't heard anything else yet.
