Title: Taking a Troop fishing and need some help
Post by: peters_skeeter on May 04, 2011, 03:16:13 PM
Taking my cousin fishing on Saturday. He is a troop that is soon headed to Iraq and wants me to take him out before he leaves. I'm thinking of going out to Kelly's Island out of Mazurik for some smallmouth. I have been out there a few times but have never caught a thing. If you guys could please give me a few pointers, I would appreciate it and I'm sure he would too. If I could get him to catch a few giant's, it would make his day for sure! Either way, I'll be sure to report back, hopefully with good news and some awesome pictures. Thanks! :-*

Hmmmm  I know of Kelly's Island but not the launch you are talking about.  I take it you are talking about Erie.  I haven't been out there in years but try the east side by the airport.  Throw lipless cranks, regular cranks in perch or drag green tubes.  Hope this helps.  I'm guessing fairly shallow water.  Good Luck  Jeff
