Title: Playing in the snow for some Turkeys
Post by: gunner7848 on April 18, 2011, 05:35:51 PM
Well it was a great hunt as you will all see when I am finished editing the footage.  Had a Tom come in 5 yards next to me let him walk around and passed then had another tom work the field but never get with in 50 yards for an hour + and acted strange. Then had the big tom work his way across the field right to the other Tom to push him out were that Tom followed up in strutting his way to the decoy doing his thing..  Got some great footage of the birds working in the blizzard.  The bird ended up being 9.5 inch beard and 3/4 inch spurs.  With his size and pushing the other bird out of there figured he had some big spurs.  What a hunt and can't wait to show everyone the hunt.  I wanted that big boy buy can't pass this bird up knowing I may not get out because I will be filming clients hunts.

Awesome pictures! I don't have the photos but had the same results yesterday. He had an 8 1/2" beard - not the biggest but not bad. Since its the only morning I have to hunt all week I wasnt about to be any pickier than that!
