For anyone looking for a finesse light weight casting reel, I wanted to tell you about a JDM Shimano Aldebaran that I bought this spring. I found it on eBay after looking for a bait casting reel for lightweight presentations. It is a magnesium reel, so it is very light weight. I couldn't be happier with the purchase. The reel palms like a dream, it is pretty small, but feels great. Spool diameter is the only downside of the reel, but for light line presentations, capacity wouldn't be a problem. The reel casts amazing, even with baits that I have tried at 1/4 oz and under (haven't been fishing, just playing with my new reel).
I was thinking that if anyone wants a baitcaster for senko fishing or drop shooting, this is a reel you should consider. I have found it to be pretty sweet at casting light weight poppers and other small topwaters and small cranks and jerkbaits and that is my plan for the reel. I would also think it would be a great fluke reel and for light (1/4oz) jigs.
Just thought I would share my thoughts since I'm so please with it so far.
