Fishing different places and catching as many fish as possible (not just bass) hopefully on some new stuff too. I like variety!

My plans are to try to keep up my average of fishing 5-7 days a week with a lot of new water. I like going new places and exploring. I'd like to try some of the U.P. lakes this year. I'm happy to not fish any tournaments, except maybe just for fun like DK Opens or some Kent Lake Tuesday nights. It all comes down to work, when I have it I don't get to fish as much.

I'm with Bender. Except for work. Us retired guys don't have to worry about that.

I have to fish around Alec's soccer schedule since I am his transportation and he is only 10.  I plan to fish some NBAA One on One stuff.  I like Len's trail that is a One on One on big water.  I hope to make some of those.  Maybe try to get back to Belleville this year on some Tuesday Nights.  I always liked that trail.  And I really would like to fish with my lovely bride more this year.  We usually get out together at least once or twice so if I can get her out more she would love it.  I am planning our first trip together to St. Clair on Mother's day.  We'll let the kids sleep in and she and I will go there.  What a plan.  I haven't fished on Mother's Day in years.  I may have a good plan here.  Even though she is not MY Mother, she is the Mother of my children.  And weather permitting, she thought it was a good idea.

Non-tournament guy here, cept for the DK Opens.  I plan to head to St. Clair for 3 days or so the first week of May with TCook from the site.  I plan on returning for the Spring Open on the 14th.  I have two trips for a total of 3 weeks on Hamlin Lake in Ludington during June and July.  Hope to get back up there early September for a few days to cast the Pere marquette Lake for salmon.  Plan on fishing the Fall DK Open on Skegmog and continuing on to Burt and Mullet for a few days.  Sounds like a good year to me.  Hope the fish cooperate  !!!!!   ;D   :-\'   Oh, I hope to get a chance to fish with a couple members of this site.

I'll be on St. Clair smallie fishing when I can find an opening. I'm going to try and get in on some Detroit River walleye jigging if I can get the boat ready in time. I've got to go pull it out of storage in my barn up-north first and then drop it off for maintenance on the o/b.

I could be convinced on some saturday in April to take a few guys out walleye fishing on the river.

I am planning on fishing Huron Valley Bass, possibly the opener on Cass and Saginaw on Memorial Day, if I can get away from work on Memorial Weekend.

Those were comments from last year bigjc in case you didn't see that.

You can always check the forum calendar (http://www.greatlakesbass.com/forum/index.php?action=calendar) for some of the event dates and links to the information. Trying to train more of the posters to use the Link to Calendar option on their tournament posts to make it easier to find events. The 2012 TBF Jr state championship and 2012 Michigan High School Fishing Championships - both in June now - are on there.

Putting the dock in Lake Mitchell in Cadillac this week. Getting the boat out of storage and working on it to be ready for Saturday. Then fish mornings at least 5 days a week. Golf with my brothers who live in Manistee and Thompsonville in the afternoons. Retirement is a good thing.

Ban me? C'mon, I paid my dues. From 1997 to 2011, I had to work and live in New Jersey. New Freaking Jersey. Snookie. Paulie D. The Land of Corruption. While you all were in gorgeous Michigan hunting and fishing, I was in the place where New York dumps its garbage. So if you think I'm going to feel guilty about fishing all morning and playing golf all afternoon, fuggeddabout it. And it's good to be back in God's Country.

You must have done a serious crime to get 14years in Jersey.

Well just put in my big tackle order for the spring.  Turns out one of my neighbors also fishes so I think I'll be taking my tin can out a little more this summer.  Got some offers from guys on the board here to go fishing too so looking forward to getting out a lot more in 2012.  Now I just need to track down a frogging/swimbait/alabama rig rod...

To make up for last years' dwindled trip count , i'm shooting for 53 trips this year. May and June: after work 2 times a week, and both weekend days. That will get a good start. I average 37 trips a year, and 52 is my most so far. Would like to fish with any of the guys i met at bob's swap meet, and i would like to be a non-boater for once. Especially out of a glass boat. Never fished out of one yet. I want my 9 yr. old niece to catch a pike and/or a legal bass ths year. I would also like to take someone out that doesn't have access to a boat...

Avid Bass Anglers of Michigan will not be having their open tournament on Cass Lake this year on opening day.  The club has only the min. members in it now and it is very hard to run a quality tournament that way.  At the same time, with so many other opens the same day it has dropped the number of competitors fishing ours.  We are though trying to have the Harry Bracken Memorial Tournament on the Halfmoon Chain the first Sunday of Oct. though, so we will keep you posted.
