Had a good time at D&R listening to Elite Series Pro, Dave Wolak. Dave made a great presentation on fishing structure in northern lakes. Dave grew up in Pennsylvania and sowed his fishing oats on Northeast Lakes. Dave won the B.A.S.S. event on Champlain last year.
He was helping Brian and Mike with the Humminbird seminar, and then in between morning and afternoon sessions, he did his hour long seminar.
One of the biggys Dave talked about, was choosing productive areas that had M & Ms. No, not the candy coated chocolate treats we all like, but grassy areas that hold good concentrations of fish. M & M in Dave's repertoire stands for areas that have a Mix of grasses and good size grass Mats. Areas like this give bass options . Dave went on to talk about how he fished these choice spots. I'll have a little more info and more pictures on my blog.
Below are some shots from Saturday. One's featuring GLBs, 1Javelin, and Puma. I also got a chance to meet Luke, that's the ROI Tournaments Luke. Found out he not only is a bass angler and runs a great trail, but also was a safety on GVSU's National Championship team. Very cool. I got a chance to look at the big NCAA ring he received from the event.
I had a great time and always look forward to learning and meeting new folks, and I really enjoyed getting to talk shop with Puma on the drive down and back.
Wolak is one of the most personable people I've ever met - learned a lot and had a great time talking with one of the coolest anglers on the Tour. Got to meet Dan and Gary Evans - learned that Dan has it rough hanging out in all those Pro's boats all year! Overall it was a great day down at D&R and I'm looking forward to going to it again next year.
Thanks to D&R Sports & Bryan P for doing such an awesome job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dan - the fever has gotten worse so we are going down to Pickwick a day earlier so if you get a chance shoot me some of DW's hot spots (he won't mind after Ryan gave him that tow at the Classic :D). I can't wait to whack some bass and hopefully we can find one of those TVA watershed 8-9 lb smallies!
Email and cell number heading your way. You'll have some fun. Hope the weather is good for ya'll. No driving by the football stadium in Florence to throw a few footballs. You'll be down there to fish and not intercept passes this time. You could intercept a few Krispy Kremes for me. There's a Krsipy Kreme not far from McFarland Park.
