Man that site is tough to get info off of ? I was just looking for more info on the Classic like when and how many do they cut to on the last day ??? Also no live web coverage ? one week delay " really "
It really needs to get warmer soon. I'm goin nuts... :(
anyone want to put in there .02 ? other than quit wining
I'm with you bud. ESPN has lost their connection to us fishermen. Too bad they still have some of the best ever on the Elites!

Ryan Said is getting a lot of good press there.
Can you imagine the production involved in filming an event that has anglers scattered literally a hundred miles from one another? If one guy goes one way and one the other. How do you even find all the anglers and once you do you have to hope they catch their fish while you're there.
Have you googled the take off area and looked at the delta map? Holly molly ollie, it's a myriad of waterways. How do you get all that film captured, edited, and aired all in a day or two. Near impossible if you ask me. The Elites and FLW really only have film of the last day of a four day tournament. Then that last day they are only putting cameras in three or four boats with one maybe two roving boats. I don't know how much it would cost to put cameras in all the contestants boats, but even if you did you could have potentially have 300 plus hours of tape to review and edit. (If you had a camera in every boat just the first day they'd have 400 hours of tape.) Just to watch the tape of all 50 boats to see what you got it would take 10 days! That's not counting the cutting and piecing of all the film. It's no wonder why they only film the last day.
The coverage for bass fishing is always going to be a challenge.
They'll have the weigh-ins live online though.
As you put very well Dan, this one is especially challenging with multi-hour runs common and anglers spread over a huge area.
This is no longer an ESPN show. The new owners of B.A.S.S. have the entire crew doing the entire production this time. No ESPN. This per a discussion cameraguy had with one of the owners today, Jerry McKinnis.
I'd also recommend giving them some time since they only took over officially in November and I have to imagine so many things will still change (and have already changed).
I'm still working through what we can and can't provide to you editorially from our time here based on the requirements of B.A.S.S. (mainly for the desire that it end up being their show and not someone elses) but we'll provide as much information, pictures and hopefully even some short video from you as often as we can get in and get it written and formatted to you.
We get up tomorrow morning 'bright' (not) and early at 3 AM Central time. I will be in the boat all day with our own member Ryan Said on this last official practice day, and cameraguy will be with Ohio bass pro Bill Lowen (an underdog pick by some).
We want to get you some stories, but also make sure we don't hurt or hinder the chances of the various anglers we follow in their all important attempt to be crowned champion!
Friday - the first competition day, cameraguy is set right now (subject to change) to go out with Ryan Said and I will go with BASS Federation Nation Northern qualifier Dave Watson. We'll see after that.
74 degrees and mostly sunny today. Supposed to be decent but a little chillier tomorrow - 54 F in the morning rising into the mid-60's.
Keep an eye on www.greatlakesbass.com/classic and www.greatlakesbass.com/ryansaid for more! Thanks!
Tired tonight after driving all night to get here - 17 hours on the road. But those last 5 hours in the 70's and sun sure helped us forget some of the tiredness!!
Ah 70 deg. Jar some up and bring it home Dan. I'm dying to get out in the boat!!!
It's not as much the days in between the event that bother me. They do, don't get me wrong, but other things bother me more.
1. The weigh-in happens at one place, one time. Show it live please. I know who won if you don't, because I'm either watching, or someone that is has texted me.
2. The times to show it suck. The webpage says day three coverage is shown one night at 10pm. Really? The best you could do is one night at 10pm?? Give me multiple times, because I work at night, and I don't like TiVo or DVR.
3. It might just be me, but since ESPN doesn't run the show anymore, I think they are laying the cold shoulder out to BASS. Maybe they will pick up coverage of FLW also, but I doubt it.
Just my rant and complaints. If I'm wrong on any of this, please correct me.

Couple original articles up so far with a number of pics on www.greatlakesbass.com/classic
1Jav. Constructive criticism is fine and wanting more coverage is okay, too. I thought the weigh-ins were live on the web. Am I mistaken?
Also, I don't know about Dan K. but I have more stuff to post from the Classic. I just have to find time to do it. I do know that Dan was working feverishly getting stuff to the web while we were down there. One morning I woke up at about 2:00am (which I do frequently, but that's another story) and Dan was still sitting in the chair with his laptop, encoding and uploading away. Another night I awoke at about 4:00am, and same thing, Dan sitting in the chair typing away...Robo Dan.
Anyway, I want to try to change your mind about Tivo, cuz at one time I felt the same way, Not now. Now that I have it, I don't want to be without it. It's simple to record any show at any time. While watching live TV if you have to leave the room, you can pause it. If you see something you like or want to replay, you can rewind it. Tivo will network with your computer so you can record programs to the computer and then burn a DVD (my six year old loves when I give her a dvd of her current favorite show, which changes frequently, so she can watch it in the car). It's absolutely one of the best toys I have.
Does anyone know if the Dish Network DVR interfaces with a computer? I would love to be able to burn shows to a DVD when the disk gets full.
can you do it with Comcast DVR's Got both of mine set up to record tonights shows on ESPN Classic and the New event on tomorrow. would be nice to burn them to DVD.

Not sure, but I don't think so. That's one of the reasons I have Tivo.
There's an interface on my Comcast one, but I've not tried to be that fancy.
Yet...
